Today’s text also deals with the 144,000. It is like a snapshot of the action.

Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.  Isaiah 41:2

There are some things we need to keep in mind as we study. America is the home base for the Advent message. God’s word deals with his people and those nations, kingdoms, peoples, that come in contact with his people and interact with them. This is why many countries are not mentioned in the Bible.

This Advent message was preached to all the world in, or by, 1843. That was the first angel’s message. The second angel’s message and the midnight cry were largely local to the eastern portion of America. At that time most of the western part of the US had not been settled.

I find it interesting that the first part of the text depicts the Advent people as a man, not a woman. However, this is in harmony with the imagery of Revelation 14 where the 144,000 are inferred to be men, for they are “not defiled with women.”

The next part is then in harmony with Revelation 7 where the angel which illustrates the Advent people is spoken of as “ascending from the east.”

Then this “righteous man” is “called to his foot.” And we have a very cool verse for this.

My foot hath held his steps, | his way have I kept, and not declined.  Job 23:11

Notice the mirror effect. I have placed a vertical line for the mirror. In a mirror you see things in the reverse. That is exactly what is happening here. We have “his steps” mirror “his way.”

In the mirror of the second part we see the true meaning of the first part.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

With the first phrase being the connecting link, the second identifying it as the way; this could be taken a couple of directions, both fitting well, because both are hidden treasure terms, meaning the whole.

Christ is the way and the way is the law. God called the “righteous man” to Christ, to his law.

Then he gave the world into their hands, nations and kings. The first angel’s message went without interference to the whole world; thus was the world brought before him.

Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind:  Psalms 18:42

The wicked are as dust before the sword of God’s word, and; now it gets really interesting.

We just finished identifying Esau as the GCSDA church, and as the wicked, AND as stubble. Enter the 144,000, God’s word teaching God’s word, Obadiah 18, bursting into a flaming fire slaughtering all, spiritually.

This will all come much more clearly into focus when you understand what Jerry shows from the Bible on the bow.

God Bless your Study
