“Come now and let us reason together,” if David took of the brook five smooth stones, what meaneth the count?

First, a reminder. People being slung out of a sling is not so far fetched. God has used it a few times, so we are in good company.

Yet a man [Saul] is risen to pursue thee [David], and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling.  1 Samuel 25:29

For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.  Jeremiah 10:18

Those were the bad guys, now one for the good guys.

The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.  Zechariah 9:15

A week ago today we discussed the possibilities of the “smooth stones” representing Jacob, and thus, God’s people. Here is more on this point.

I was shown that the third angel proclaiming the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, represents the people who receive this message and raise the voice of warning to the world, to keep the commandments of God and his law as the apple of the eye, and that in response to this warning many would embrace the Sabbath of the Lord.” p. 236, Para. 3, [LS80].

Even though this passage only mentions the third angel, we know for a fact that none have testified to seeing or hearing an angel flying over and preaching anything. We safely conclude that the first two angels also represent God’s people doing the very work the angels of prophecy are illustrating.

We turn to Revelation 14 and find these three angels there in verses 6, 8, and 9. But there are other angels mentioned here. Verse 14 shows Christ on the cloud and 15 brings forth another angel; this one coming out of the temple and crying with a loud voice a message. God has given us the true understanding of this angel in “A Word to the Little Flock,” page 12, where we are told that this angel also represents God’s people; not delivering a message to the wicked, but crying a message to Christ on the cloud.

Verse 17 shows another angel, he “having a sharp sickle.” Christ is the one who has a sharp sickle, therefore we believe this is Christ, come to the earth the third time, at the end of the thousand years.

But who can this be that comes to light in the 18th verse? We believe this angel represents the 144,000 who, at the third coming of Christ to the earth with the city, have a special role; for it says that this angel “had power over fire.” What is fire?

Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; Jeremiah 23:29

We believe God is now preparing his people to deliver the final warning to the earth, through the use of the hidden treasure. It will be the fire that will “kindle in them,” (use your e-Sword here) and burn them up as stubble, fully dry.

Thus we have five smooth stones, which represent five smooth Jacobs, deceitful Jacobs that became converted, or, better said, five angels which represent the church of Philadelphia, the 144,000, from it’s inception to it’s last revealed act.

We have a great work before us. Even if every thing stated here is not correct, something very, very big is on the horizon. You have opportunity to have a part, if ye be willing and obedient.

The fact that Goliath was taken out by the first stone, I think, has to be an illustration of the power of the hidden treasure in God’s people, properly used by God.

God Bless your Study
