Category: The Sabbath Rest and Seal

Sabbath October 12, 2013

Today is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.

Will you enter the fiery furnace?
Will you enter the Sabbath rest?
Jeremiah evidently was in that rest, as this verse testifies.

Then I said, I will not make mention of him,[the Word] nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. Jeremiah 20:9

What an amazing text! God teaches us gently, repeating, repeating his instruction and repeating the lesson using other words, laboring to surround us with clear understandings of his will.

We learn that the phrase “I will not make mention” is the same as “nor speak any more.”

Then we have “him,” which is “the word,” which is “his name.”

And back to our lesson of days past, “his word” is “a burning fire!”

That word being “in mine heart” is the same as “shut up in my bones.”

“Weary with forbearing” is the same as “could not stay.”

It’s small wonder then that James has this to say of the Advent people.

Our object is to revive these sweet testimonies, that were written in the pure, cheering and soul-stirring spirit that attended the Advent movement from it’s commencement, hoping that many will be led to see the “old paths” clearly, and once more stand on the “ORIGINAL FAITH.”

The Lord with a powerful hand, brought the Advent people out from the bondage and corruption of the nominal churches, and they were free; but alas! how many of those free, honest and precious souls have been allured back into what is called the “ADVENT CHURCH!!”

Once the Advent lecturers, as the held forth the word of life, being filled with the Holy Ghost, spake with power, and the happy hearer was often heard to respond, amen; and, at times, shouts of praise to God would ring through the assembly. But Oh! how changed! The pure testimony is crushed, and in many Advent congregations, if one should dare to shout and praise the Lord, and “GIVE GLORY TO HIM,” as we did during the flying angel’s message, Rev. xiv, 6,7, he would be silenced as a fanatic, as having mesmerism, or some wicked spirit, and told perhaps, that all the Spirit of God there is, is the Spirit of the Word, and that God does not teach us at all, separate from the Word.

O, that all the true children had stood fast in the liberty wherewith Christ set them free in 1843, and 1844, and not been entangled in the cruel yoke of bondage. The Advent Review, Vol.1, No.1, page 112 (16, old version).

Having been buried six feet deep in formalism for the first fifty years of life, it must have been something to have witnessed whereof James speaks.

Time for a little Bible lesson.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalms 119:105

We are going to focus on the word lamp. God’s word is a lamp.

And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. Genesis 15:17

Spiritually, God’s word is a lamp. Here we are being taught by God that his lamp is burning.

The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. Leviticus 6:13

Spiritually, God’s word shall ever be burning. Period. Don’t be afraid to eat one small bite of God’s words.

He [John the Baptist] was a burning and a shining light: John 5:35

Spiritually, John the Baptist was God’s word teaching God’s word. (Psalms 119:135 shine is to teach)

John the Baptist is a representative of the 144,000, Spirit of Prophecy, Vol.2, page 44. Check out this verse.

Then stood up Elias [Elijah] the prophet as fire, and his word burned like a lamp. Eccleasiasticus 48:1 That’s right, from the authentic Apocrypha.

Spiritually, Elijah was God’s word. And his word was God’s word not his own.

Elijah is a representative of the 144,000, Spirit of Prophecy, Vol.2, page 337.

Shifting gears a bit. Often the spiritual definitions have two sides, just like a coin. Here are a few verses on the other side of this spiritual definition.

Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. Job 41:19-21

That would be Satan, the leviathan.

An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire. Proverbs 16:27
Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. Proverbs 26:23

Clearly this is not a reference to God or his words. As you study remember that often the definitions you learn have a good and a bad side. It’s just a part of God’s plan.

I am exasperated! There is a constant stream of vomit and filthiness that must be waded through to get the truth in researching the authentic Spirit of Prophecy vs the counterfeit SOP. I sometimes feel like I have jumped into a septic tank that must be bailed out by hand!!! Gross, YES!!! Sometimes necessary. Lord have mercy and give me strength to swim this filthy tide!

In picking up Questions on the Sealing Message, by J. N. Loughborough, published 1916, to check something else, my eyes fell upon these lines, page 18, which were highlighted.

If there is still a doubt of the resurrected Sabbath keepers’ being numbered with the 144,000, consider the following from Sister White’s words in 1909. At the General Conference in 1909, Elder Irwin had a stenographer accompany him in a call upon Sister White. He wished to ask her some questions, and have an exact copy of the words of the replies.
Among other questions was this one: “Will those who have died in the message be among the 144,000?” In reply, Sister White said: “Oh, yes, I those who have died in the faith will be among the 144,000. I am clear on that matter.” These were the exact words of question and answer, as Brother Irwin permitted me to copy from his stenographer’s report.

Previous to this I had not put much weight on this information, because we have The Day-Star and the 1858 Great Controversy, page 205, which, when combined, show clearly that all those who hear the voice of the Father giving the day and hour of Jesus coming and watch him come to this earth are, in fact, the 144,000, there are no others present.

After reading Loughborough’s comments today, I decided to see if Elder Irwin’s notes might be available on the White Estate CD. In checking this, I found the muck! and that is what I hate about doing this research. I feel dirty handling this junk! Here is what was found.

e. The Interviews: He [Elder G. A. Irwin] has with him a little notebook in which he has noted down perplexing questions which he brings before me, and if I have any light upon these points, I write it out for the benefit of our people, not only in America but in this country [Australia].–Letter 96, 1899. {3SM 51.1}
f. When There Was No Light: I have no light on the subject [as to just who would constitute the 144,000]. . . . Please tell my brethren that I have nothing presented before me regarding the circumstances concerning which they write, and I can set before them only that which has been presented to me.–Quoted in a letter by C. C. Crisler to E. E. Andross, Dec. 8, 1914. (In White Estate Document File, Number 164.) {3SM 51.2}

Let’s walk through this.

1.) Elder Irwin is getting written up in a letter dated 1899, for the exact same thing which Loughborough is describing in 1916, as having happened in 1909. So we can surmise that Irwin had a habit of doing this type of thing.

2.) Now all this is being written up in book 3 of Selected Messages. Lo, and behold! the very next item on that very page is a question about the 144,000, as to who they would be constituted of. And we have a letter (read proof here), dated December 8, 1914, of “Ellen’s” answer. “I have no light on the subject….”

3.) Just five years previous we have a highly credible report from a man who has made it a habit to ask Ellen, personally, difficult questions, and a highly credible report of the answer to one of those questions, from a man, who had only eight more years to live, but was a true pillar of the church, verified so.

But we have two “Ellens”!!!!!

God’s prophets do not speak with forked tongue!!!

This is another one of those cases where you MUST decide. You are forced to choose! You can not have it both ways!

Either Ellen was true and faithful to God, or she was not.

On this site we prove that Willie was Satan’s agent to re-write the entire authentic Spirit of Prophecy and that he took control immediately after James’ death, writing his views, his thoughts, his opinions, then putting Ellen’s name on the work as his authority it were, her work.

Sabbath October 5, 2013

It is a fearful deception to think that somehow, someway, because there are now and have been past, so many good Seventh-Day Adventists throughout the known world, there must be more than 144,000, of those exposed to this faith, who will be saved.

Currently, there are over 17 million SDAs in the world. If they were all truly converted the great controversy would have been over with long ago. Numbers will not do it. What the numbers really show is how this message has been dumbed down, changed, from what God gave to the world, to what unconverted man thinks it should be. Not counting Catholic influence.

Many claim that there are Jesuits in the church. That may be. The real point is that the members have not embraced the very thing that would keep sin and sinners out of the church— the living testimony, the voice of reproof and rebuke, the pointed testimony, it goes by a few names.

Everybody wants to look good, smell good, feel good, and have their feelings of importance stroked. This is not God’s appointed way. Here is his appointed way.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: Revelation 3:19

I like the way Dale Carnegie states it in his famous book, How to Win Friends and Influence People. “There is only one way under high Heaven to get anybody to anything. Did you ever stop and think of that? Yes, just one way. And that is by making the other person want to do it. Remember, there is no other way.”

He goes on to quote William James, “‘The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.” He didn’t speak, mind you, of the ‘wish’ or the ‘desire’ or the ‘longing’ to be appreciated. He said the ‘craving’ to be appreciated.” Dale then goes on to educate people in the arts of the ways of the world. But these are not God’s ways.

It is because the church has adopted the ways of the world that it has so many members. It is stroking this “craving” to be appreciated, using social proof, “Well, there are so many, it must be right, if I am a part of it I can be right too.” Best you take a good hard look at the past. Only eight got in the ark, only one Abraham was chosen, only one Elijah stood against apostasy, only three were thrown in the fiery furnace, only, only, only! “And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of” them all! Only a few.

Time to review some evidence.

They [the Advent people] fell all the way along the path one after another, until we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus’ coming. The Day-Star.

And now the second voice of evidence.

But there was one clear place of settled glory, from whence came the voice of God, like many waters, which shook the heavens and the earth. There was a mighty earthquake. The graves were shaken open, and those who had died in faith under the third angel’s message, keeping the Sabbath, came forth from their dusty beds, glorified, to hear the covenant of peace that God was to make with those who had kept his law. And as God spake the day and hour of Jesus’ coming, and delivered the everlasting covenant to his people,…. 1858 Great Controversy, p. 205.

From these two pieces of evidence all should be able to see that “the voice of God like many waters” calls from the grave a certain very well defined and explicitly stated group of people, for the explicit purpose of giving them “the day and hour of Jesus coming.” Then we go back to The Day-Star for a final piece of evidence.

The living saints, 144,000 in number, know and understand the voice….

Notice, that it is only after that resurrection by the voice of the Father that the saints are called “the living saints.” Of course they are living! they just got resurrected! Some of them, we know not how many, have physically gone through the time of trouble such as never was, the time of Jacob’s trouble.

We are rapidly closing in on the 169th anniversary of October 22, 1844 and because so few are walking in the light of the Midnight Cry, they reason within themselves, “There must be more than 144,000, there must be… it must be a figurative number, yes, that’s it! Those words must mean a figurative number!” And so the first lie of Satan spreads like wildfire! “Ye shall not surely die!” And this, in the face of very explicit words.

All this means that the 144,000 count started with the Sabbath message, which started with the third angel’s message, which started October 23, 1844 with the vision God gave to Hiram Edson, which proved that Christ, our high priest, went into the Most Holy place and the great antitypical Day of Atonement began. When that count is done, when the last saint is numbered and sealed, here is what happens next.

I saw angels hurrying to and fro in heaven. An angel returned from the earth with a writer’s inkhorn by his side, and reported to Jesus that his work was done, that the saints were numbered and sealed. THEN I saw Jesus, who had been ministering before the ark containing the ten commandments, throw down the censer. He raised his hands upward, and with a loud voice said, It is done. And all the angelic host laid off their crowns as Jesus made the solemn declaration, He that is unjust, let him be unjust still; and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still; and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holy still. p. 197, Para. 2, [1SG ].

There is only one numbered group of saints. The number is very explicit, “144,000 in number.” It’s taken, to date, 169 years so far, and the count is not over. This means that even fewer than 144,000 of those who have been exposed to the truth before today will be saved. All are responsible for the light they had access to. Many, many will die. You have the opportunity to become immortal. God so loved you that he gave his only Son, to die, to pay the price so that you could live, but it can only be in God’s appointed way.

It’s an amazing thing to me as I notice how Christ talked to the Jews.

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? John 2:18-20

Christ did not try and tell them which words were to be spiritually understood and which were to be physically understood. Perhaps they should have understood them spiritually because what Christ said in this instance was, for man, a physical impossibility.

But he was often speaking to them in parables, dark sayings, and these stories were listened to by the masses, but they were charmed by the storyteller, not the part they didn’t understand. And Christ did not explain it to them, he let them go, the ones who wanted to, were anxious to get to bed, back to work, home in time to eat something, whatever it was, they did not ask him for an explanation.

But some did.

And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: Mark 4:10-11

So it was, that after the meeting some stayed, to ask. And for them, Christ explained it all. They got the mystery of the kingdom of God, they got the meat!

The real kicker to this whole thing is this, anybody could have got the same thing, it was free! for the asking!!

Here are some good questions.

How about you?
Are you willing to ask?
Are you willing to cherish what you do have now?
Why should God give you more light if you are doing nothing with what you have?
Are you just wanting some excitement?
What exactly are you doing now? spiritually?
How is this going to help you in working out your own salvation?
Is that Ok?

We live on the threshold of eternity…. With a God who so loved us that he gave his only Son to save us, so that we can become immortal, like him, and we can live together, enjoying each other, forever….

Today we have a bit of history for you. The third angel’s message began October 23, 1844 with the vision God gave to Hiram Edson as he crossed a cornfield with a friend. Here is the text of that vision as Hiram wrote it out, with some other information and his obituary.

Here is the story behind the text we have today of Hiram’s vision, given by God to his people October 23, 1844, to encourage the terribly disappointed flock.

The church has six handwritten pages on yellow notebook paper. It was written somewhere about 1865 to1874, according to best guesswork. The Youth’s Instructor is the first known church publication that references the article. A. W. Spalding, “Light on the Sanctuary,” The Youth’s Instructor, March 8,1910. These six pages are well verified as Mrs.Via Ophelia Cross, Edson’s daughter, handed it to F. M. Kelley in the spring of 1921, who later 1936 served as liaison to transfer the authentic document to L. E. Froom. There is some further speculation that there were thirty actual pages of matter with the six, which the church would not publish. If this is so, apparently, only the church knows for sure.

The Text of the Vision:
The spelling and punctuation of the manuscript have been preserved

“Heaven seemed open to my view, and I saw distinctly and clearly, that instead of our High Priest coming out of the Most Holy of the heavenly sanctuary to come to this earth on the tenth day of the seventh month, at the end of the 2300 days, that he for the first time entered on that day the second apartment of that sanctuary; and that he had a work to perform in the Most Holy before coming to this earth. That he came to the marriage at that time; in other words, to the Ancient of days to receive a kingdom, dominion, and glory; and we must wait for his return from the wedding; and my mind was directed to the tenth ch. of Rev. where I could see the vision had spoken and did not lie; the seventh angel had began [sic.] to sound; we had eaten the littl [sic.] book; it had been sweet in our mouth, and it had now become bitter in our belly, embittering our whole being. That we must prophesy again, &c., and that when the seventh angel began to sound, the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament, &c.” {all emphasis in original handwritten document, i.e., the underlined words, from the wedding; Christ is not coming as a bridegroom, but as a King of kings and Lord of lords}

Hiram Edson’s Obituary as it appears in the R&H of February 21, 1882, Vol. 59, No. 8

Note: The text is as it appears, line for line, in the R&H. The whole right edge of which was faded into black and the last letters are a guess. As in the first line, the state might be NY. We can see the “N” but not the next letter, &c.

EDSON.—Died at East Palermo, Oswego county, NJ
Jan. 8, 1882, Bro. Hiram Edson, aged seventy-five years
and nine days. Bro. Edson was a native of Jefferson
county, N. Y. He was early connected with the Advent
body, having a rich experience in connection with the
movement of. 1843-4. After the passing of the time
was among the first to receive the third angel’s message
and identify himself with the work, giving largely of his
time and means for its advancement. His devotion to
the cause, which was dearer to him than life, in its early
infancy, when its friends were few, fully entitles him to a
place among its pioneers. His name is mentioned in the
writings of Bro. and Sr. White in connection with their
earlier labors.

For six months before his death he was confined to a
bed, almost entirely helpless, and his sufferings were almost
beyond endurance. He bore them all with Christian
patience and fortitude, though earnestly praying that he
might sleep in Jesus. He leaves a wife and four married
daughters to mourn their loss. Funeral discourse by the
writer from words chosen by our brother before his
death, Rev. 14 :13. B. L. WHITNER

We stand in the gap between a physical reality and a spiritual reality. Our state of mind determines if we are IN THE WAY, blocking, hindering, obscuring, being a stone of stumbling, one of Satan’s agents, or, IN THE WAY, of Christ, following his footsteps, helping those he connects with us to see spiritually, believe the truth, reading the Word and rightly dividing it.

Judas yielded to the temptations of Satan, and betrayed his best friend. Peter learned and profited by the lessons of Christ, and carried forward the work of reform which was left to the disciples when their Lord ascended on high. These two men represent the two classes whom Christ connects with himself, giving to them the advantages of his lessons, and the example of his unselfish, compassionate life, that they may learn of him. p. 144, Para. 2, [29OT].

The more man views his Saviour, and becomes acquainted with him, the more he will become assimilated to his image, and work the works of Christ. The age in which we live calls for reformatory action. The light of truth [God’s Word] which shines [teaches] upon us calls for men of determined action, and sterling moral worth, to labor diligently and perseveringly to save the souls of all who will hear the invitation of the Spirit of God. p. 145, Para. 1, [29OT].

It thrills my soul to continually see this beautiful harmony between the authentic Spirit of Prophecy and the Bible! God has done marvelous things with his Word! By beholding our thoughts are drawn to God and he changes our thoughts to purity, that we might be prepared for translation. He changes our acts by changing our thoughts through our reading of his words; we eat the true bread of life, the flesh of Christ, John 6.

The word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” The heart preoccupied with the word of God is fortified against Satan. Those who make Christ their daily companion and familiar friend will feel that the powers of an unseen world are all around them; and by looking unto Jesus [the Word] they will become assimilated to his image. By beholding [the Word], they become changed to the divine pattern; their character is softened, refined, and ennobled for the heavenly kingdom. p. 134, Para. 1, [30OT].

Look how God repeats the same teaching using different words in this paragraph! not once, not twice, but four!! (4)!! times! Amazing!

In order for things to change I must change, I must renounce the world, their ways, practices, methods, or I will die with them. I must embrace God, his ways, practices, methods, and I shall live, a new life, a life to live forever with him. It’s a choice.

Someone was running around fretting about others leaving the lights on, wasting the electricity and the expense thereof. It must have been potluck that day at the church. I was standing chatting with a man who carried some weighty responsibilities with his business. He was actually a part of the GC. In response to this fretting he turned to me and said, “Man, I just leave the lights on, it’s just a cost of being in business. You got to have light, to do anything.” Yeah, that’s right….

It’s amazing to me to contemplate the word light.

Truly the light is sweet, Ecclesiastes 11:7

How can light be sweet?

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; Jeremiah 15:16

Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. Ezekiel 3:3

And since God’s words are light….

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalms 119:105

Therefore, it is very true— that the light is sweet!

Besides, “You got to have light, to do anything!”

Here are three more passages on image, all from No. 26.

If we poor mortals reach Heaven, we must overcome as Christ overcame. We must be assimilated to his image, and our characters be spotless. p. 45, Para. 4, [26OT].

It seems that character is very closely associated with thoughts. While we are judged on our acts, it is our thoughts from which our acts spring.

You need more human sympathy. This is a quality of our natures which God has given us to render us charitable and kind to those with whom we are brought in contact. We find it in men and women whose hearts are not in unison with Christ, and it is a sad sight indeed when his professed followers lack this great essential of Christianity. They do not copy the Pattern, and it is impossible for them to reflect the image of Jesus in their lives and deportment. p. 74, Para. 1, [26OT].

A snapshot of one element of character, human sympathy. It’s interesting that people can profess all they want. But, human words are not the pure words of God. We have to examine the acts, which is the fruit on the tree.

Certain unsympathizing disciples commanded that the children be taken away lest they should trouble the Master; but as they were turning away in sadness, Christ rebuked his followers, saying, “Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” p. 206, Para. 1, [26OT].

He knew that these children would listen to his counsel and accept him as their Redeemer, while those who were world-wise and hard-hearted, would be less likely to follow him and find a place in the kingdom of God. These little ones, coming to Christ and receiving his advice and benediction, had his image and his gracious words stamped upon their plastic minds, never to be effaced. We should learn a lesson from this act of Christ, that the hearts of the young are most susceptible to the teachings of Christianity, easy to influence towards piety and virtue, and strong to retain the impressions received. But these tender, youthful ones should be approached with kindness, and taught with love and patience. p. 206, Para. 2, [26OT].

The proximity of these two terms we have been studying is notable. In fact, we have the peg word “his” to indicate that image and gracious words are actually synonymous! And this is the whole point in a nutshell.

The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

In order to be pure, our thoughts must be pure, in order for our thoughts to be pure, we must choose pure things to think. And, there is only one source for that purity.

Every word of God is pure: Proverbs 30:5

Thursday September 26, 2013

Amazing things are said in the Bible and in the authentic Spirit of Prophecy. Sometimes we need to slow down and really absorb what the individual words are saying. Perhaps the subject passage we have today is such a one. This comes to us from Original Testimony (that is the “OT” at the end of the reference) No. 25.

“Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” This is close language. Who can stand the test? The word of God is to us a daguerreotype [This word was the name used for photograph in those days.] of the mind of God and of Christ, also of man fallen, and man renewed after the image of Christ, possessing the divine mind.

The last sentence above states an amazing fact. We have been steadily examining the ideas surrounding the word word. Now we find God’s instruction plainly stating that the Bible is to us a picture “of the mind of God and of Christ!” Then it goes on to state it is a picture “of man fallen and man renewed after the image of Christ, possessing the divine mind.”

This last phrase “possessing the divine mind” tells us that “man renewed after the image of Christ” is a man who has the Word(s) of the Bible in his mind, by choice, willingly, cherishing the words of Spirit and Life, seeking how to apply those words to his own actions, that…, (look below at this next two sentences.)

We may compare our thoughts, feelings, and intentions, with the picture of Christ. We have no relationship with him unless we are willing to work the works of Christ. p. 118, Para. 1, [25OT].

…we might “work the works of Christ.” Since thought is parent to act it is imperative that we change our thoughts. We change our thoughts by the law of indirect action. We leave the undesirable thoughts as they are, unchanged, and take other, new, more desirable thoughts, and focus our mind on them. This is where God’s word comes in. We become children of the Word, living, breathing, eating, these words from God’s table, the Bible, which words are Spirit! and Life! John 6:63, and are, in fact, (spiritually, not physically) the flesh and blood of Christ! John 6:47-58.

We have all heard the saying, “You are what you eat!” And so it is! If you eat the flesh of Christ, which is the words of the Bible, and drink his blood, which is the words of the Bible, you will be “renewed after the image of Christ!” This eating of Christ’s flesh, the Word, and drinking of his blood, the Word, at God’s table, must be done with Faith and a heart to do the works. Christ’s righteousness does not do the works man can do.

Christ came to do his Father’s will. Are we following in his steps? All who have named the name of Christ should be constantly seeking for a more intimate acquaintance with him, that they may walk even as he walked, and do the works of Christ. We should appropriate the lessons of his life to our lives. “Christ gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works. Hereby perceive we the love of God; because he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” Here is the work of self-denial which we must enter upon with cheerfulness, in imitation of the example of our Redeemer. The Christian’s life must be one of conflict and of sacrifice. The path of duty should be followed; not the path of inclination and of choice. p. 119, Para. 1, [25OT].

Jesus said he only spoke words that the Father gave him, John 14:24. And now these follow.

I am come a light [Psalms 119:105] into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. John 12:46-50

Oh! Beautiful! Harmony! I praise God that he, and not Ellen, is the true author of the authentic Spirit of Prophecy! She was called the weakest of the weak and that included her mental ability. Un-learned but humble in God’s sight. Willing to follow the path of duty. Someone God could use. She did not possess in herself the ability to create this harmony between the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy. Only God could do such!
