I learned something interesting. The “rest” of Hebrews is not about the Sabbath. Here is the text.

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

There is a treasure that is hidden. Remember the parable of the treasure hidden in a field? And the one about the pearl of great price? In each case the prize was only obtained at the price of all, that the man had. Interestingly, William Miller said the same thing. Rule No. 14.

XIV. The most important rule of all is, that you must have faith. It must be a faith that requires a sacrifice, and, if tried, would give up the dearest object on earth, the world and all its desires, character, living, occupation, friends, home, comforts, and worldly honors.  If any of these should hinder our believing any part of God’s word, it would show our faith to be vain. Nor can we ever believe so long as one of these motives lies lurking in our hearts. We must believe that God will never forfeit his word.  And we can have confidence that he takes notice of the sparrow, and numbers the hairs of our head, will guard the translation of his own word, and throw a barrier around it, and prevent those who sincerely trust in God, and put implicit confidence in his word, from erring far from the truth, though they may not understand Hebrew or Greek.

If you have faith, you will understand. Look at this verse. Isaiah 28:11-12.

For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. Isaiah 28:11-12

We here learn that that rest is “the refreshing. By digging for the hidden treasure we find what that refreshing is.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19

Perhaps some will argue this point; never fear, God is near, and has given us a proper understanding of the matter.

I heard those clothed with the armor speak forth the truth in great power. It had effect. I saw those who had been bound; some wives had been bound by their husbands, and some children had been bound by their parents. The honest who had been held or prevented from hearing the truth, now eagerly laid hold of the truth spoken. All fear of their relatives was gone. The truth alone was exalted to them. It was dearer and more precious than life. They had been hungering and thirsting for truth. I asked what had made this great change. An angel answered, It is the latter rain; the refreshing from the presence of the Lord; the loud cry of the third angel. p. 186, Para. 2, [1SG ].
Great power was with these chosen ones. Said the angel, Look ye! My attention was turned to the wicked, or unbelievers. They were all astir. The zeal and power with the people of God had aroused and enraged them. Confusion, confusion, was on every side. I saw measures taken against this company, who were having the power and light of God. p. 186, Para. 3, [1SG ].

Any questions? We continue on with Hebrews.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 3:15-4:12

It takes work, labor, to dig out the truth, which by faith leads into the refreshing.
A correct understanding of the “rest” is important for all God’s people. Suddenly the book of Hebrews takes on a new meaning, the charm of the truth grabs you. It is the Holy Ghost, assembling God’s great army of Joel 2.

God Bless your entrance to his rest

We have come to an important time in the life of sopvindicated.org, as originally viewed. Six years has this voice proclaimed the truth of the very real existence of the counterfeit SOP. Six years have we joined forces with the others who lived in the real faith of the second coming. Six years of growth, learning, sharing.

A corner is being turned, as it were. This corner has a radius and is not as the sharp corner of a board cut off with a saw. As an airplane flies or a ship sails, making the turn, not as a marching soldier ordered, “Right Face,” but in a quarter of a circle, so will we turn this corner. Thus change will occur over time, not suddenly. As Crosier says, “In a period of time.”

We stand on the shores of the great ocean of truth that stretches as far as the eye can see. And in going as far as we can see, yet farther still, truth stretches away, calling the mind to drink in the pure truth, absorb, assimilate, digest and become.

An amazing thing has occurred. God has come in to help us prepare for the future. You will, no doubt, remember some time back when I told you the Gold Letter Texts were being added to the book, “Beginning & End,” because at first, I felt they were, or should be, a part of the big picture, but did not understand how. Then in sharing my thoughts with a sister in the faith, she gave me the insight that these texts were special instruction to the 144,000, the church of Philadelphia. I immediately added them to the book.

Now we have Jerry from Michigan, who, God has taught about Miller’s “Rules of Interpretation,” and how to use them. He learned them from a man in Tennessee, Mr. William T. Barrett.

Here is Jerry’s website: http://www.sdramerica.org/
(No affiliation with Nicholas at Presents of God.)
And here is Barrett’s: http://biblemadesimple.com/

William has been teaching this method of study for some time. His studies launched Jerry as a catapult shot, off and running. Jerry is also writing a book. We look forward to it’s release.

It is very interesting that the Key of David is mentioned in the letter to the church of Philadelphia. We believe Miller’s Rules is in fact this key. We know that Christ gave this key to the true pioneers of this faith and they used it to launch their work for God.

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Rev. 3:7-13

Now, with this work being revived, we believe God has brought this key forward again; just like the true Spirit of Prophecy is being revived; just like a clear understanding of the defiled bread is being brought to the surface by many; the work of preservation of God’s true word. We believe Miller’s “Rules” is a part of the open door before us today. It is an open door of clear understanding of God’s word.

We believe God is preparing his people to go home. Come and walk with us.

God Bless your study

Sunday May 6, 2012

You are invited for a conference call meeting, May 12, 2012, 10:30 am, West Coast, USA, time. We will be learning from a man who I believe has been gifted by God to learn and teach William Miller’s 14 rules of interpretation of the Bible. In other words, Bible words, spiritually discerned.

The title of the talk is, “How to study a word in scripture using the Bible.” We will be using “Butter” as our first word. The plan is to open with a short presentation and open for Q &A. The meeting will be recorded and after the meeting you will be able to download an MP3 file for your use.

NOTE: You are welcome to attend, by invitation only. In this setting, this is your invitation. You must RSVP with an email to me, to get the phone number. You are also granted permission to invite others to this call and in so doing you are responsible to give them the phone number. They in their turn may do likewise. However, please do not post the phone number for the public, it is by invitation only.

The first time I talked with this man it was four hours on the phone. The second time, it was nine hours. I felt like I had hit a gold mine and all I had to do was just grab and go. This is all about the Bible, not the Spirit of Prophecy. We will be integrating this into this site moving forward.

This invitation is a first step and the second step is a word study site that will be released after the meeting. I will also be posting William Miller’s rules of interpretation for your use.

The 144,000 part 2.

The Gold Letter Texts are the ones shown to Ellen when she resisted the power of the Holy Ghost that came on her and she was struck dumb. We think these texts are of very great importance to God’s people in the final days.

Today I want to focus on just a few excerpts.

Because of the great importance, to the entire universe, the closing of the power of the wicked on earth, the entire Bible, especially the Old Testament, is crucial to understand for the church of Philadelphia. Hence the importance of the coming meeting on the 12th of this month. (see above)

Interestingly, not one of the Gold Letter Texts are from the Old Testament. I don’t understand that yet.

As I was thinking about the 144,000, and all that was entailed there; the issue of martyrs surfaced. I know so many people have thought that no one would be martyred in the last days. But, Revelation 20:4 is very clear on this point. The Gold Letter Texts are found to be very important for the church of Philadelphia. This is a part of that importance, preparation for paying the ultimate price.

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings,  and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word, Acts 4:29-31

… but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:35-39

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries;  which is to them an evident token of perdition,  but to you of salvation, and that of God.       For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ,  not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. Philippians 1:6, 27-29

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,  and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God,  that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.      For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,  but against principalities, against powers,  against the rulers of the darkness of this world,  against spiritual wickedness in high places.       Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God,  that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,  and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, …. Ephesians 6:10-18

And that stand just may be on the plain of Dura; almost alone, just the three of you. With other SDAs begging you to just kneel, just this once….

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth  through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren,  see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently. 1 Peter 1:22

Every man’s work shall be made manifest:  for the day shall declare it,  because it shall be revealed by fire:  and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 1 Corinthians 3: 10-13

And I say unto you, my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body,  and after that have no more that they can do: But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: fear him, which, after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, fear him.      Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings?  and not one of them is forgotten before God.      But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not, therefore; ye are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12: 3-7

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee; And in their hands they shall bear thee up,  lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.   Luke 4:10-11

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness,  hath shined in our hearts,  to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.       But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,  that the excellency of the power may be of God,  and not of us.      We are troubled on every side,  yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;       Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.   2 Corinthians 4:6-9, 17-18

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation,  ready to be revealed in the last time.      Wherein ye greatly rejoice,  though now, for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:      That the trial of your faith,  being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,  though it be tried with fire,  might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 1:5-7

For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.  1 Thessalonians 3:8

And these signs shall follow them that believe;  in my name shall they cast out devils;  they shall speak with new tongues;      They shall take up serpents;  and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;  they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  Mark 16:17-18

Someone may try and poison you.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will,  and it shall be done unto you.  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit;  so shall ye be my disciples.   John 15: 7-8

The crowns of the martyrs were heavy with stars.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

In this future, Satan will use every power possible. He will go as far as God will allow. There has to be good reason the saints will be afraid. I’m guessing it’s because there will be blood in the streets, real blood; enough to make you afraid blood.

Enough to make you participate in Revelation 14:15.

God Bless your study
