Today is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. 

Will you enter the fiery furnace?
Will you enter the Sabbath rest?
Jeremiah evidently was in that rest, as this verse testifies.

Then I said, I will not make mention of him,[the Word] nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. Jeremiah 20:9

What an amazing text! God teaches us gently, repeating, repeating his instruction and repeating the lesson using other words, laboring to surround us with clear understandings of his will.

We learn that the phrase “I will not make mention” is the same as “nor speak any more.”

Then we have “him,” which is “the word,” which is “his name.”

And back to our lesson of days past, “his word” is “a burning fire!”

That word being “in mine heart” is the same as “shut up in my bones.”

“Weary with forbearing” is the same as “could not stay.”

It’s small wonder then that James has this to say of the Advent people.

Our object is to revive these sweet testimonies, that were written in the pure, cheering and soul-stirring spirit that attended the Advent movement from it’s commencement, hoping that many will be led to see the “old paths” clearly, and once more stand on the “ORIGINAL FAITH.”

The Lord with a powerful hand, brought the Advent people out from the bondage and corruption of the nominal churches, and they were free; but alas! how many of those free, honest and precious souls have been allured back into what is called the “ADVENT CHURCH!!”

Once the Advent lecturers, as the held forth the word of life, being filled with the Holy Ghost, spake with power, and the happy hearer was often heard to respond, amen; and, at times, shouts of praise to God would ring through the assembly. But Oh! how changed! The pure testimony is crushed, and in many Advent congregations, if one should dare to shout and praise the Lord, and “GIVE GLORY TO HIM,” as we did during the flying angel’s message, Rev. xiv, 6,7, he would be silenced as a fanatic, as having mesmerism, or some wicked spirit, and told perhaps, that all the Spirit of God there is, is the Spirit of the Word, and that God does not teach us at all, separate from the Word.

O, that all the true children had stood fast in the liberty wherewith Christ set them free in 1843, and 1844, and not been entangled in the cruel yoke of bondage. The Advent Review, Vol.1, No.1, page 112 (16, old version).

Having been buried six feet deep in formalism for the first fifty years of life, it must have been something to have witnessed whereof James speaks.

The story of Lot is quite interesting. Looked at from a spiritual understanding it is even more interesting. We put up a post on this a few months ago. But there is more, probably a lot more than even I understand now; we’ll just add a bit to the former post.

Here are the first fifteen verses from the nineteenth chapter of Genesis. After reading this we will make some observations.

And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it. And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law. Genesis 19:1-14

The two angels that come to visit Lot, I believe, are the first and second angel’s messages. It is these angel’s messages that cause separation. They came at the end of the day. I believe this to be representative of the end of Christ’s ministration in the Holy place. When Lot saw them, he rose up to meet them, which appears to me like a preparation of heart to meet God’s message.

Then Lot presses upon them to come and stay at his home. This looks like the striving to enter the strait gate and, we know home is the same as church, therefore Lot brought the messages into his church. Perhaps the making of unleavened bread and eating is a symbol of the pure message being eaten spiritually.

Christ’s parable about new and old wine, Luke 5:37-39, in new and old bottles applies to the men of the city wanting to know the angel’s messages. The fact that it was “both old and young, all the people from every quarter” shows it to be a symbol of all the world. God knows who should be saved. These are searched out by the saints and given the new wine. The wicked are the old bottles that can not hold the new wine. If they were to receive the new wine it would kill them, they would burst. The angel’s pulling Lot into the house, the shutting of the door, smiting the men about the door with blindness, must be the closing of those messages. The shut door is a closing of Christ’s ministration in the Holy place. Since that time the understanding of the sanctuary service in type and anti-type has been closed to those who would not enter. This is the various Protestant churches, they are blinded to this great truth, as symbolized by the men at the door of Lot’s house who “wearied themselves to find the door.”

Now Lot is mentally on the way out, now he is prepared to give the message to those close to him, now the messages impel him to go in search of the lost. Alas, it is a lost cause, all he meets mock his efforts to warn.

Continuing our reading from James’s book, Life Incidents.

1. The three messages constitute a solemn warning to the world to prepare for the coming of Christ. The closing division of this great warning is a test to the world and ripens the harvest of the earth. Those who receive the warning and prepare for the coming of the Lord, are ripened by it for immortality. Those who reject it, are ripened for the day of slaughter. p. 339, Para. 1, [LIFE].

2. The warning given by Noah, the manner his message was treated, and the wrath of God in a flood of water, illustrate the closing events of the present state of things. “As the days of Noah were, so also shall the coming of the Son of man be.” God did not call this preacher of righteousness to warn the next to the last generation before the flood, but the very last. The very generation which drank the waters of the flood, saw Noah build the ark, and heard his warning voice. How absurd the supposition that Noah built the ark, and gave his warning message in the time of next to the last generation, so that those who heard his message and saw his work, passed into the grave, and the ark went to decay, and their children came upon the stage of action to witness unwarned the terrors of the flood. p. 339, Para. 2, [LIFE].

3. The last great warning was to be given to the last generation of men. They very ones who hear it, receive it, obey it, and are waiting for the Lord, will exclaim, as the Son of man shall return with his angels down the blazing vault of heaven, “Lo! this is our God, we have waited for him, and he will save us.” And the very men who reject the warning, and justly merit the wrath of God, will also witness the second advent in flaming fire with terror and anguish. This warning is not given to next to the last generation, but to the very last. Then, as certain as the great warning, illustrated by the three messages of Rev. xiv, had been, and is being given in our day, just so certain the generation that has heard the warning will witness the day of wrath, and the revelation of the Son of God from Heaven. One of two things is certain; either Seventh-day Adventists are wrong in the application of the messages, or Christ is very soon coming. If they are correct in their application of the great warning, then the very men who hear it will witness its terrible realities. p. 339, Para. 3, [LIFE].

“Verily I say unto you,” says Christ, “this generation shall not pass away, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Matt. xxiv, 34, 35. We do not believe that the word generation marks any definite number of years. The Lord designed to teach that the people who should live at the time of the fulfillment of the last sign mentioned (falling stars of 1833,) and should hear the proclamation of the coming of Christ, based partly upon the fulfilled signs, should witness the scenes connected with his coming. God has raised up men to give the solemn warning to the world at the right time. The signs were fulfilled at the right time to give force to the warning. And the very generation of men that live after the three great signs are fulfilled, and who hear and reject the warning message, will drink the unmingled cup of the wrath of God. And those of this very generation who receive the message, suffer disappointment and endure the trials of the waiting position, will witness the coming of Christ, and exclaim, “Lo! this is our God, we have waited for him.” p. 340, Para. 1, [LIFE].

Dear reader, if watchful and faithful to duty, we shall very soon enter the harbor of eternal rest. Keep a good look-out. Oh, be not deceived, and overcome by the world, the flesh, and the Devil. True faith forbids your looking into the future, and laying plans for the benefit of the next generation. It shuts you up to the present. But it is to be feared that those who are employing their physical and mental forces to accumulate wealth for their children, while they are neglecting their duty to the cause of present truth, and do not give themselves and families time to seek and serve God, are making a terrible mistake. They not only fail to help the cause, and fail to walk with God, and fail to exert the best influence in their own families, but their influence in professing so solemn and definite a position as that the present is the period for the third and last solemn warning, while in works they deny their faith, is decidedly against the cause. p. 340, Para. 2, [LIFE].

The world exhibits madness in grasping for wealth. A spirit of insanity has taken hold of men upon the subject of worldly gain; and many who profess present truth are more or less imbued with it. With those who do not fear God and keep his commandments, and are not looking for the soon coming of his Son, this is what might be expected. But with Seventh-day Adventists there is no excuse. With them it is insanity and madness. Why should they accumulate wealth for their children? Should the Lord remain away a hundred years, wealth handed down to them would be their almost certain ruin. Look to the history of truly good and great men. Have they sprung up amid wealth? Or have they come from families trained in the school of poverty and want? Read the histories of the early lives of martin Luther and Abraham Lincoln. Both were poor boys. But they soon became great men, by facing want, grappling with poverty, and overcoming those obstacles ever lying in the path of want. Such a struggle in early life gave them experience, and was the safeguard of their purity. While the names of these good men are embalmed in the memory and affection of the people, those of hundreds, who received riches from their parents, have rotted, because money was in the way of their doing what they should have done, and being what they might have been. setting aside the coming of the Lord, there is no more certain ruin to the children than for them to look to, and lean upon, their parents wealth. p. 341, Para. 1, [LIFE].

But what can be said of the influence of those brethren who profess to believe that the last great warning to the world is being given, yet devote their entire energies to accumulating wealth for their children? What can be the influence upon their children? Is it not to lead them to love this world? to put off the coming of the Lord? to neglect the necessary preparation? Are they not taking a course directly to shut them out of the kingdom of Heaven? And is there any hope of the salvation of either parents or children while pursuing such an inconsistent course? Without the faith of the soon coming of the Lord, they are pursuing a course to secure their ruin. With this faith, while pursuing a course to deny it in work, they are making that ruin certain. p. 342, Para. 1, [LIFE].

The short period of probation remaining should be improved in laying up treasure in Heaven, and seeking that preparation necessary to its enjoyment in the next life. Parents, I entreat of you, live out the precious Advent faith before your children. Lead them to Jesus, and teach them by your faith and works to secure a preparation for his coming. Let your influence in favor of truth and holiness extend to all around, that it may be said to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. p. 342, Para. 2, [LIFE].

This material gave me a much needed better handle on the subject. Clearly God has called us to a unique position. Holding that position is not easy, but it is God ordained as the very best thing for us in this patient, waiting, watching time.

In Testimony No. 23 the first seventy-one pages is, to my thinking, a special section on the time we are now living in to the church as a corporate body. As such there are specific things said that are applicable to us all.

Three of these items are found on page 22, in these words. “Especially in the closing work for the church, in the sealing time of the one hundred and forty-four thousand, who are to stand without fault before the throne of God,…”

These words were published in 1873 and are applicable to the close of probation. The Spirit of Prophecy, like all information from God, is timeless; which is why we do not buy into the lie “time and place must be considered.” The three items brought to view are “the closing work for the church,” “the sealing time of the one hundred and forty-four thousand,” and perfection. Why would these be placed like this, so tightly together? Because they are one and the same work.

Think about it. The Day of Atonement work was the final work of the year for the Israelites. So it is the final work for God’s church now. And we will here put a reminder for you about Matthew 24:14. The end there brought to view has started October 22, 1844 because the Gospel was preached to all the world, then.

Being in the final work for God’s church we are given the final work for the world. That work is the repairing of the breach in God’s law. Making known to every person that God’s law fully applies to each of us today. This is commonly called the third angel’s message, but few have any comprehension of the scope of this message.

Here is what James has to say.

Those who present this message understandingly, must first show the fulfillment of the messages of the first and second angels, [verses 6-8,] in the past Advent movement. Thus they chain all three messages together, show their harmony, and the fulfillment of God’s word in them, and the testimony relative to the second coming of Christ is bound up. {1853 JW, ST1853 99.2}

This is pointing out the walking in that strait and narrow path— in the light of the Midnight Cry. Here we see that the light of the Midnight Cry is in fact the third angel’s message properly given. And right there is the big problem. Great numbers of people have never heard the third angel’s message properly given.

James is pointing out that the very fact that the third is called third is because there was a first and second. It is a form of denial and rejection to ignore the light of the Midnight Cry by never teaching it. According to The Day-Star, Ellen’s first vision, such denial causes that light to become darkness, from which none can recover.

These are very serious matters relative to our faith and sharing it with others. We are held responsible for the light we do not share. Other souls may be lost if we do not do our part.

I am sitting here reviewing some things and paused to look up something in the Review and Heralds after James’ death, August 6, 1881. My eye fell on the following item which we may have touched on in the past, but it bears repeating.

My mind was carried to the future, when the signal will be given, “Behold the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.” R&H, 2/11/1896

Certain points of our faith should be so secured in our minds that nothing can shake them. This is one of those points. When Christ comes the second time, he does not come as the Bridegroom, he comes as King of kings.

Then commenced the jubilee, when the land should rest. I saw the pious slave rise in triumph and victory, and shake off the chains that bound him, while his wicked master was in confusion, and knew not what to do; for the wicked could not understand the words of the voice of God. Soon appeared the great white cloud. On it sat the Son of man. p. 206, Para. 1, [1SG ].

This cloud when it first appeared in the distance, looked very small. The angel said that it was the sign of the Son of man. And as the cloud approached nearer to the earth, we could behold the excellent glory and majesty of Jesus as he rode forth to conquer. A holy retinue of angels, with their bright, glittering crowns upon their heads, escorted him on his way. No language can describe the glory of the scene. The living cloud of majesty, and unsurpassed glory, came still nearer, and we could clearly behold the lovely person of Jesus. He did not wear a crown of thorns; but a crown of glory decked his holy brow. Upon his vesture and thigh was a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. His eyes were as a flame of fire, his feet had the appearance of fine brass, and his voice sounded like many musical instruments. His countenance was as bright as the noonday sun. The earth trembled before him, and the heavens departed as a scroll when it is rolled together, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains. And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? p. 206, Para. 2, [1SG ].

The Advent believers were correct in their proclamation “Behold the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.” It was then that the parable of the ten virgins of Matthew 25 met it’s complete fulfillment. The sentiments of the counterfeit book Christ’s Object Lessons notwithstanding.

This is a part of that pure light of the Midnight Cry that gives light for our feet that we might not stumble as we walk that strait and narrow way to the City. Holding to the present truth the true pioneers had will keep us on that path.

All these cries about advancing light is the bable of the drunkards of Babylon’s wine. Those in the SDA church have been drinking the wine of Babylon and now promote that wine to their members. They claim there were errors in the pioneers faith. Wrong! The real errors are the lies of Satan disguised as sweet wine from Babylon’s table.

God has given us all we need to be saved. Eat and drink of his bread and his water and you will be safe, saved at last.

Remember, only eight (8) were saved from the flood.

In the second part of The Day-Star is a very interesting writing of Satan’s work of deception. We have visited this passage often in the past and today there is an important point of light that has come which we will look at.

We have just done some posts on the subject of perfection. In particular note this post, for Friday June 7th, for a quick review. This man, SDA Pastor Gifford Rhamie is teaching “in the Hebrew concept of perfection, there is no understanding of flawlessness, or sinlessness” “however we understand the word perfect today we have injected this notion of flawlessness and sinlessness.”

This man is simply parroting what he learned in seminary, which was from counterfeited Greek and Hebrew documents, which is wrong. Thus the importance of the KJV Bible.

This concept of perfection is critical to understand, especially with regard to our duty since October 22, 1844. That date began the great anti-typical Day of Atonement. Let’s review The Day-Star.

I saw a throne, and on it sat the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I gazed on Jesus’ countenance and admired his lovely person. The Fathers person I could not behold for a cloud of glorious light covered him. I asked Jesus if his Father had a form like himself; He said he had, but I could not behold it; for, said he, if you should for once see the glory of his person, you would cease to exist.
Before the throne was the Advent people, the Church, and the world. [Notice there are three groups, not two] I saw a company bowed down before the throne, deeply interested while most of them stood up disinterested and careless. Those who were bowed before the throne would offer up their prayers and look to Jesus, then he would look to his Father and appeared to be pleading with him.
Then a light came from the Father to his Son and from him to the praying company. Then I saw an exceeding bright light come from the Father to the Son and from the Son it waved over the people before the throne. But few would receive this great light. Many came out from under it and immediately resisted it. Others were careless and did not cherish the light and it moved off from them. Some cherished it and went and bowed down before the throne with the little praying company. This company all received the light, and rejoiced in it as their countenances shone with its glory.

This light appears to be the first and second angel’s messages. It’s a bit condensed in this vision.

Then I saw the Father rise from the throne and in a flaming chariot go into the Holy of Holies within the vail, and did sit.

This means that the Father was in the Holy place with Christ. On October 22, 1844 the Father went into the Most Holy before Christ did.

There I saw thrones which I had not seen before. Then Jesus rose up from the throne, and most of those who were bowed down rose up with him. And I did not see one ray of light pass from Jesus to the careless multitude after he rose up, and they were left in perfect darkness.

This is true of all the Protestant churches. They have absolutely no understanding of the Sanctuary message at all. They have no knowledge of where Christ is now.

Those who rose up when Jesus did [the Advent people], kept their eyes fixed on him as he left the throne, and led them out a little way, then he raised his right arm and we heard his lovely voice saying, wait ye, I am going to my Father to receive the Kingdom. Keep your garments spotless and in a little while I will return from the wedding, and receive you to myself.
And I saw a cloudy chariot with wheels like flaming fire. Angels were all about the chariot as it came where Jesus was; he stepped into it and was borne to the Holiest where the Father sat. Then I beheld Jesus as he was before the Father a great High Priest. On the hem of his garment was a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate. Then Jesus shewed me the difference between faith and feeling.

Now that we have the proper background, we move on to the critical point of this study.

And I saw those who rose up with Jesus send up their faith to Jesus in the Holiest, and praying, Father give us thy spirit. Then Jesus would breathe on them the Holy Ghost. In the breath was light, power and much love, joy and peace.
Then I turned to look at the company who were still bowed before the throne [in the Holy place]. They did not know that Jesus had left it. Satan appeared to be by the throne trying to carry on the work of God. I saw them look up to the throne and pray, My Father give us thy spirit. Then Satan would breathe on them an unholy influence. In it there was light and much power, but no sweet love, joy and peace. Satan’s object was to keep them deceived and to draw back and deceive God’s children.

This work of God, that Satan is trying to carry on, is the forgiveness of sins. We have talked about this before in an oblique manner by discussing the role of psychiatrists and psychologists as functional high priests of Satan’s, who labor to assuage guilt and provide a counterfeit peace through counseling, or, that failing, chemicals; affectionately called “meds” by many.

I saw one after another leave the company who were praying to Jesus in the Holiest, go and join those before the throne and they at once received the unholy influence of Satan.

This vision that God gave to the church was for it’s warning to the very end. It was not just for the 1800’s. Here we see that Satan is successful at deceiving many of the Advent people. This is one of the reasons why the Sanctuary message is not taught in church today.

Charles Fitch helped to give the first angel’s message, the second and the Midnight Cry and died just before October 22, 1844. He was one “whom God had laid in the grave to save.” The Day-Star.

Jerry showed me that Charles wrote a book and one chapter out of that book is titled, Come Out of Her My People. This was also printed up as a pamphlet. The following is an excerpt.

 

This is God’s word: and all the spiritualizers on the footstool cannot alter it. They may undertake to tell what God means by it, God has given His own meaning in His own language, and He will make it good by fulfilling it as He has caused it to be written. If God had meant something else and not this, He would have told us what He did mean. Just as though when God had given us truth in symbolic language, and then interpreted it, that it might be fully understood, He had after all left it for men, in their upstart folly to improve His own revelation. My soul is pained when I reflect how the word of God has been rendered powerless upon the consciences and hearts of men by the attempts which have been made to alter it into something else.

 

Charles is here defining the work of the many translators. These do not understand the spiritual meaning of the spiritual words and calling it “ridiculous” (see Isaiah 33:19, the margin) they are attempting to make it more plain, and in the attempt are actually removing the truth.

It is amazing how the Advent Pioneers were so well versed in the spiritual understanding of the Bible, God having taught them through William Miller. We seek continually to follow in his footsteps on the strait and narrow path.

Jerry called my attention to some items I had previously not noticed. There are a couple of passages to note in connection with this. The first being in The Advent Review, No. 1, page 99 (global paging), consisting of the following.

 

We wished not to build up any party or sect; but we labored alone for the saving of souls.—And God blessed our labors.

 

With the second found on page 119 of the same book, The Advent Review, No. 2, page 119, top left column, a quote from the Voice of Truth for May 21, 1845, where Eld. Marsh says:

 

Finally, we object to the doings of the Albany Conference, because the proceedings as a whole, look like the forming a new sect, under a sectarian name, instead of coming to the order of the New Testament, under the name there given to the true church. It looks like laying plans of our own devising to be acted upon in the future when we have in our possession the perfect economy of the Lord, by which we should be guided, and when we profess to be looking for his coming every hour.

 

The point being made here is the obedience to the gospel of Christ, namely, the second angel’s message and the Midnight Cry. Babylon is fallen and come out of her my people and stay out of her. Also, not building “again the things which I destroyed.” Galatians 2:18

The Advent people, having come out of the various sects, felt warned by God to not build again something he had ordered destroyed. In this case that would be a formal church.

Ultimately, a church was built. We understand that James and the true pioneers actually built after God’s New Testament Gospel Order. This would be the same as spoken of in the 1854 Supplement to the 1851 CEV.

It further appears that this order was broken down in the years after James’ death, til the entire hierarchal structure was build as we know it today. Today’s SDA organization mirrors the Catholic church’s organization and has nothing to do with gospel order.

It is very instructive to realize that the true pioneers did have a clear understanding of this matter. They followed gospel order and built up a world wide church. And the organization operated smoothly and efficiently, and God blessed it.

Today we have nothing for you to join, no pastor, no president, no leader—but Christ and him alone.

We seek the truth as the true Advent pioneers knew it, in it’s fullness of the 168 years of light from the Midnight Cry shining (means teaching, remember?) on the strait and narrow path to the City.

We would kindly refer you back to Wednesday’s post, May 1, for a summary of what we are about today, as we are working on the last item, No. 5, as listed there.

So what is the purpose of the 2520 prophecy? Matter of fact, what is the purpose of any of the prophecies? I like to go to extremes in thought processes, it helps to clarify the point at hand.

The 2520 prophetic timeline is a second confirmation that the year 1843 was the correct year for the calculation. The fact that God hid (and in plain sight!! mind you) that the correct date required a tighter calculation is not a fault on their part. When God hides something, no one will ever see it until he reveals it. We are his created creatures and totally dependant on him for everything, like it or not.

And it is especially true of the correct understanding of the Bible. Remember, spiritual things are spiritually understood. And this, not by the will of man. In humility we come to him for understanding.

Because we are now living in the time of the end, spoken of in Matthew 24:14, almost all prophecy has come to pass. The 2520 prophetic timeline is in this group. God told us very specifically three very important points about prophecy, found in the 1858 Great Controversy, page 148.

 

I saw that they were correct in their reckoning of the prophetic periods. Prophetic time closed in 1844.

 

Two very simple sentences, a great anchor for God’s people of the last days, the 144,000. The first item we need to understand is the plain message of the first sentence. The pioneers “were correct in their reckoning of the prophetic periods.” The message is very plain, very simple, and very direct. When someone comes along and tells you that the pioneers made a mistake, you can simply point them to this page and tell them the truth. If they will not accept the truth from God then you probably need to put some distance between you.

And just to repeat it, it is impossible for Ellen to have authored the Spirit of Prophecy, it’s far too complex for any human mind to handle. Willie and Uriah proved that when God gave them a turn at the helm. God is the author, and for the depreciated humans of these last days the authentic Spirit of Prophecy was given “not to give new light; but to impress with vividness the truths of inspiration already revealed.” This brings clarity to a correct understanding.

Second, note carefully the last two words of the first sentence, “prophetic periods.” This correctly tells us there was more than one, which includes the 2520. And third, note carefully and compare the ending of the first sentence and the last sentence. “Prophetic periods” is something different than “prophetic time.” Here again a great anchor for our faith is presented. There are far too many people that want to apply prophetic time, a day for a year, to other prophecies. This is a device of Satan that God has warned us about and provided the anchor for our faith so we will not get caught in Satan’s snare.

More specifically to the point. The 2520 and the 2300 day prophetic timelines are an integral part of the 1843 chart. The 1843 chart is an integral part of proving the Advent faith to be correct. It is instructive to see the SDA church today in wide departure from the Advent faith of the pioneers. Something is bad wrong.

Today’s SDA church will gladly teach you just how wrong the Advent pioneers were, but they have no prophet who does not breath for hours in public while in vision. What they do have is the Biblical Research Institute, and prayer that goes to the Holy place, where Satan appears to be trying to carry on the work of God by breathing on them light and power. They have no healings by the power of God. What they do have is worldly doctors and drug therapy.

They claim to be teaching the third angel’s message, but it is not a true message and here is why.

 

Those who present this message [the third angel’s] understandingly, must first show the fulfillment of the messages of the first and second angel’s [verses 6-8,] [sic] in the past Advent movement. Thus they chain all three messages together, show their harmony, and the fulfillment of God’s word in them, and the testimony relative to the second coming of Christ is bound up.

 

God’s true people will teach the third angel’s message in this way. This is far different from what the SDA church teaches. The true Advent pioneers would not be members of the apostate SDA church of today.

All have to choose who they will follow, Christ or loyalty to the SDA church, none can have both.
