We live in an amazing time. We are watching IRL (in real life) the accelerating decline of America. It would seem to me to be the positioning of the powers of hell in preparation.

This comes to us from breitbart.com and is a good demonstration of things you already know. We recommend you read the article in full.

In 2006, Vanessa Willock contacted Elane Photography, asking Elane to photograph her lesbian commitment ceremony. It was a private commitment ceremony because New Mexico recognizes neither gay marriage nor gay civil unions. Elane thanked Willock for her interest, but explained that due to her religious beliefs she only does traditional weddings.

Willock filed a complaint against Elane with the New Mexico Human Rights Commission, citing a state law that does not allow discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. The commission ruled Elane’s decision illegal, and imposed a fine of $7,000 to cover legal fees.

In a concurring opinion, Justice Richard Bosson wrote Elane and Jonathan:

… now are compelled by law to compromise the very religious beliefs that inspire their lives… the result is sobering. It will no doubt leave a tangible mark on the Huguenins and others of similar views.

… At its heart, this case teaches that at some point in our lives all of us must compromise, if only a little, to accommodate the contrasting values of others. A multicultural, pluralistic society, one of our nation’s strengths, demands no less. The Huguenins are free to … pray to the God of their choice … But there is a price, one that we all have to pay somewhere in our civic life.

Bosson goes on to say having to violate your religious beliefs when they conflict with social issues like gay marriage “is the price of citizenship.”

In response to today’s decision, Lorence said in an ADF statement:

Government-coerced expression is a feature of dictatorships that has no place in a free country. This decision is a blow to our client and to every American’s right to live free. Decisions like this undermine the constitutionally protected freedoms of expression and conscience that we have all taken for granted. America was founded on the fundamental freedom of every citizen to live and work according to their beliefs and not to be compelled by the government to express ideas and messages they decline to support. We are considering our next steps, including asking the U.S. Supreme Court to right this wrong.

A recent Rasmussen poll showed that 85% of Americans support the right of a religious photographer not to participate in a gay-marriage ceremony.

Many different groups claim their “right” to many things. In this particular case the judge, Justice Richard Bosson, is, in my opinion, giving evidence to a political agenda at play, that is, continuing the destruction of the principles of freedom upon which this country was founded.

It is a right of any person or business to serve or not serve any customer. It is the right of any customer to peaceably assemble and protest against any such, perceived as abuse. Socialism is going to the government for a solution in law. And herein is the great demise of this country, at the hands of Jesuit based, government forced on threat of death, education, wherein the principles of freedom are not taught, the masses of the populace accept socialism. They know not what they do.

This man, Justice Richard Bosson, certainly is capable of good thinking, based on principles of justice, as this other case shows, but in the matter of respecting the right of the individual to have and enjoy their own free choice, he has erred. It appears to be deliberate.

It is this kind of thinking that true Christians will have to face in the future. And we are told that it is only going to get worse and worse until the wicked are destroyed by God from off the earth. See Joseph Bates’ book, The Sealing Message, pages 24-26.

This is not new to true Christians. They have ever faced tyrants and despots of every strip and color. Witness the testimony of the three Hebrews that were thrown into the fiery furnace.

And thou didst deliver us into the hands of lawless enemies, most hateful farsakers of God, and to an unjust king, and the most wicked in all the world. [!!] The Song of the Three Holy Children, verse 8.

Christ is coming, it is high time to get ready and be prepared for translation or the grave. The evidence is all around us, likened to the walls of water on each side of the Hebrews as they crossed the Red Sea.

“All who are saved will be tried upon it [the Sabbath] in some way.” The Sealing Message.

Be ready for the trial of your faith. It may be as simple as patiently staying anchored to the Rock of truth, consistently ASKing, asking, seeking, knocking, after truth.

Words, words, words, these are the stuff of life. A man is rich if he has an abundance of words. Now comes the task of separating, deciding, sorting. Words arraigned paint a picture. If that picture be evil, that arraignment must be discarded. Those same words, arraigned differently, make a picture of good. That arraignment must be guarded, preserved, shielded from evil.

God presents his words to man. This is illustrated in the parable of the sower, found in Matthew 13:1-9; Mark 4:1-9; Luke 8:4-8. Then something happens, an enemy comes in and steals the good words and replaces them with smooth words, words of the world, words of man. See Matthew 13:24-30. These words cause death. These are the same words Eve listened to and suddenly she thought that the fruit on that tree was good for food!

Those evil words attracted her lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and her pride of life, she surrendered and went to find another to drag down also. Sad. The following texts show that God reads the hearts of men and knows in advance. Matthew 13:10-17; Mark 4:10-12; Luke 8:9-10; John 12:35-43

Here is the explanation of the parable of the sower. Matthew 13:18-23; Mark 4:13-20; Luke 8:11-15;

Here is much more. The parable of the sower is just a parable, at first, but then it is so much more! You take a look, you examine these texts for that seed, sown in the mind of the hearer, you prove the words of life. Remember Psalms 119:105, what is light? John 1:1-14; 3:19-21; 4:41; 5:8, 11, 24, 35, 38, 47; 6:27-65; 8:12-47; 9:5; 10:4, 16, 26-27; 11:40; 12:44-50; 14:1-25; 15:3, 7, 10, 20, 22; 16:8-15, 25, 33; 17:3, 6, 14-20; 20:31; 1John 1:1-7; 2:5, 7-11, 14.

All too often I would just read over things and not take the time necessary to think about what is being said. We’ll put Isaiah 28:11-12 here again for convenience.

For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. Isaiah 28:11-12

What is God speaking? Words. What are words? Physically words are just ink on paper or sounds we hear, spiritually, words of God are Christ. “Christ in you the hope of glory.” “Let the word of Christ dwell in you” Yet God calls this rest and refreshing, “stammering lips and another tongue.”

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:9-11

Is Christ physically in you? No. Is Christ the words? Spiritually, yes, physically, no.

The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

When God’s words come to us, it is Christ knocking at the door of Laodicea seeking entrance.

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding Psalms 119:130

Opening our door and allowing Christ in, in the form of spiritual words, nay, not just allowing, but embracing truth, opening our hearts to truth, embracing the Words of God (John 1:1-5), is the embracing of Christ.

We don’t fully understand all this, neither do you understand the electricity you use every day. I know this because some of the brightest minds in the science world don’t understand exactly what it is that is coming out of the wires and making your motor work. But we use it.

We need to stop trying to analyze every little thing God says and become believers. Prove, yes, question God’s words, no. What if God tells you to walk on water? Are you going to give him the latest science report? What if he tells you to go to Egypt and tell the king to let his people go, are you going to tell him you can’t talk? And what if he tells you to go to Damascus and instruct Saul, are you going to tell him that little bit of gossip that you heard about the man?

Notice now these next passages and the message that is there in plain sight. Read carefully the words and think about it in terms of Isaiah 28:12.

We are to have Christ in our hearts as a well of water, springing up into everlasting life, refreshing all who come in contact with us. p. 49, Para. 1, [30OT].

If Christ be in you, the hope of glory, then by his power you have words to share, which are spirit, and life, and Christ.

I was shown that if God’s people, without making efforts on their part, wait for the refreshing to come upon them

We must labour to enter that rest, strive to enter that strait and narrow way. Hebrews 4:11, Luke 13:24.

and remove their wrongs and correct their errors, and depend upon that to cleanse them from filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and fit them to engage in the loud cry of the third angel, they will be found wanting. The refreshing or power of God, comes only on those who have prepared themselves for it by doing the work which God bids them, namely, to cleanse themselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Works is getting the words spiritually understood, faith is embracing the work of perfection, being obedient to God’s words and preparing ourselves for the grave or for translation to Heaven. Notice how the terms are interchanged.

In some respects, I was shown, my husband’s case is similar to those waiting for the refreshing. If he should wait for the power of God to come upon his body and to feel that he was made whole before he made efforts, or acted in accordance with his faith, saying, When the Lord heals me I will believe and do this or that, he might continue to wait, and would realize no change; for the fulfillment of God’s promise is only realized by those who believe and work in accordance with their faith. I saw that he must believe God’s word, that his promises are for him to claim, and they will never, no never, fail. He should walk out by faith, relying upon the evidences that God has been pleased to give, and act toward the point of being a well man as much as possible. Said the angel, “God will sustain him. His faith must be made perfect by works; for faith alone is dead. It must be sustained by works. A living faith is always manifested by works.” p. 67, Para. 1, [13OT].

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. Deuteronomy 30:14

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass [grass is people]: Because I will publish the name of the LORD: Deuteronomy 32:1-3

As we think of the Loud Cry and the Latter Rain, the 1858 Great Controversy comes to mind, page 186. We discussed this a bit yesterday. In particular this is where the word refreshing is added to the Loud Cry and the Latter Rain. We understand through Isaiah 28:12 that this Refreshing is the spiritual understanding of God’s words.

The last part of that verse says “yet they would not hear.” This implies listening. Not the casual listening of everyday sound waves entering our ears. This implies a listening to this other tongue. It implies allowing and accepting God’s teachings and definitions of his own words.

I’m sure you remember God’s method of teaching using parallel phrases. Notice what God is saying in this verse.

I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you. Proverbs 1:23

Very clearly, very carefully God is teaching that the out-pouring of the Holy Ghost is the same as God making known his words to us. BUT THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WERE TAUGHT!!!

You are exactly right! As with so many other things I learned in a lifetime of growing up in an apostate church, so many of the members working hand in hand with Satan and know it not! See No. 23, page 101.

We must re-learn many important truths, things we thought were so solid, yet, the authentic Spirit of Prophecy proves them to be the devices of Satan and we were deceived! Our only hope of life is to cling to Christ and follow him.

Notice the words in the following passages. Especially note the relationship between the two items, refreshing and latter rain, as highlighted.

I was pointed down to the time when the third angel’s message was closing. The power of GOD had rested upon his people. They had accomplished their work, and were prepared for the trying hour before them. They had received the latter rain, or refreshing from the presence of the LORD, and the living testimony had been revived. The last great warning had sounded everywhere, and it had stirred up and enraged the inhabitants of earth, who would not receive the message. p. 197, Para. 1, [GC58].

At that time, [since October 23, 1844] while the work of salvation is closing, [see No. 23, page 22] trouble will be coming on the earth, the nations will be angry, yet held in check, so as not to prevent the work of the third angel. At that time the “latter rain,” or refreshing from the presence of the Lord, will come, to give power to the loud voice of the third angel, and prepare the saints to stand in the period when the seven last plagues shall be poured out. p. 3, Para. 4, [SUPCEV].

This is a process that began with Hiram Edson’s vision in the corn field, it’s called the third angel’s message. October 23, 1844 began the time of the end, for this gospel of the kingdom has been preached in all the world at the first angel’s message.

We see this process of the refreshing similar to a manufacturing process. The term process usually encompasses a lot of details, some more intense than others. Glass is run through a process to make jars. It must first be melted, then formed, then cooled, then boxed, then warehoused before shipping. In one simple sentence we covered the process, but there is much more in that process.

Read No. 23, page 22 and note that there are four processes brought to view, the living testimony, the closing work for the church, the sealing time of the 144,000, the slaughtering time of Ezekiel 9, all brought to view in a very few lines.

In the yet future, the processes of “the latter rain; the refreshing from the presence of the Lord; the loud cry of the third angel, will be increased and expanded greatly, “with ten times the power.” See Spalding and Magan, pages 1-4.

Tomorrow we will show more.

In the 1858 Great Controversy, on page 186, we have a portion of the illustration of the Shaking being presented to us. God told us in The Present Truth, No. 9, page 78, global paging, that “the mighty shaking has commenced, and will go on,….”

After this description, in the 1858 Great Controversy, a change is seen to come over the saints.

I asked what had made this great change. An angel answered , It is the latter rain; the refreshing from the presence of the Lord; the loud cry of the third angel.

Let’s look more closely at what the angel said.

It is:
1.) the latter rain
2.) the refreshing
3.) the loud cry

I have re-arraigned the phrases to allow us to better identify what is what. It is clear that a great change happened to the saints. It is also clear that the angel is giving an answer of truth.

The answer is not what we were taught it was. All three items are one and the same, but also separately identifiable parts. The vision was given January 26, 1850. This means that this process, called the Shaking, has been on-going since that time. This means that some portion of the strength of each of these three items has been at play every time someone stood up and spoke truth to the church.

No one does this of himself. This is done by the power of God upon the speaker; and the servant of God, under the influence of this three-fold power, speaks out the living testimony to an apostate church, who does not understand the voice of the latter rain, the refreshing, the loud cry, and so they cast out the speaker, go back inside and pray to God to help them understand the Shaking, which they are studying in their Sabbath School lesson.

Deep in apostasy and rebellion against God and they know it not! And they can hardly wait till sundown so they can have that church beach party, or Halloween party, &c. Such would never enjoy Heaven and so will not be there.

I have often heard about the latter rain and the loud cry, but never the refreshing, until after leaving the church and learning the value of the 1858 Great Controversy. This engenders the question, “What is the refreshing?”

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. Isaiah 28:10-12

So it is this “other tongue” that is called “stammering lips” that is what the refreshing is. It is God’s spiritual words spiritually understood.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 4:23

Why is the Father seeking such to worship him? Is it not because he wants to speak to them in the language of Heaven? It seems so. He wants to commune with them in spiritual words of truth. But he can not do this if they will not understand. Therefore we study Bible words spiritually understood.

This is the other tongue, the stammering lips that all the world calls ridiculous; it is spiritual words spiritually understood.

In the 1858 Great Controversy, on page 142, there are unique things said about God’s people.

God’s people were then accepted with him.
Jesus looked upon them with pleasure.
His image was reflected in them. p. 141, Para. 2, [1SG ].

Of these three things said about God’s people, we want to focus on the last item. “His image was reflected in them.” Meaning Christ’s image. We need to understand exactly what is Christ’s image.

For you or I, we might take a picture and show it to someone and say, “Here’s my latest image.” But what would it look like, spiritually? Good question. Let’s go to John 1.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:1-5

We understand the Word to be Christ. Routinely we use this term to define the Bible, God’s word. This is true. We could also say, “Christ is God’s son.” This is true also. Both terms are correct and interchangeable. But what if I say of my Bible, “Here is Christ.” This does not work, neither would it be true that the Bible is a reflection of Christ; I think it’s probably because the Bible is only paper and ink, it is not alive.

To my current understanding, in order for a person to properly reflect Christ’s image, that person must have the Word of God within them; not just the surface understanding, but “another tongue,” Isaiah 28:11, must be in them. This is a part of “the mystery of the kingdom of God,” Mark 4:11. This becomes “Christ in you,” Colossians 1:27.

Now you reflect Christ’s image. Now you have entered that special Sabbath rest; “this is the rest,” Isaiah 28:12. “For we which have believed do enter into rest,” and a part of that rest is entering into that “other tongue,” Isaiah 28:11, which is none other than, spiritual words, spiritually understood. 1 Corinthians 2:13.

This is our great necessity, an infilling of God’s words spiritually understood; which words, living in us, through our obedience to God’s word, is Christ’s image reflected in us. Then when we say that we are being perfected by God’s word,(s) within our minds, really, it is Christ within, “the hope of glory.”

Ponder these things, for these words have power and sweet love, joy and peace.

Monday August 26, 2013

We have a passage today from Testimony No.30. This portion touches on several points, but in particular we should focus on the part about controlling our own mind. This is a highly important subject. Without us controlling our own minds, the question can properly be asked, “Who is in charge?”

God has not left his people in the dark about this important topic. There are very specific warnings and important counsels. To ignore such information from God is to reject the very idea of going to Heaven, for none will get there, from here, by refusing God’s advice.

We are in danger of regarding Christ’s ministers simply as men, not recognizing them as representatives of himself. [we will note here that only those preaching the pure Advent message qualify] All personal considerations should be laid aside; we must listen for the word of God through his ambassadors. Christ is ever sending messages to those who listen for his voice. On the night of our Saviour’s agony in the garden of Gethsemane, the sleeping disciples heard not the voice of Jesus; they had a dim sense of the angel’s presence, but lost the power and glory of the scene by drowsiness and stupor, and thus failed to receive the evidence which would have strengthened their souls for the terrible scenes before them. Thus the very men who most need divine instruction often fail to receive it, because they do not place themselves in communication with Heaven. Satan is ever seeking to impress and control the mind, and none of us are safe, except as we have a constant connection with God. We must momentarily receive supplies from Heaven; and if we would be kept by the power of God, we must be obedient to all his requirements. p. 30, Para. 2, [30OT].

The condition of your bearing fruit is that you abide in the Living Vine. “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” p. 31, Para. 1, [30OT].

All your good purposes and good intentions will not enable you to withstand the test of temptation. You must be men of prayer. Your petitions must be, not faint, occasional, and fitful, but earnest, persevering, and constant. It is not necessary to be alone, or to bow upon your knees, to pray; but in the midst of your labor, your souls may be often uplifted to God, taking hold upon his strength; then you will be men of high and holy purpose, of noble integrity,– who will not for any consideration be swerved from truth, right, and justice. p. 31, Para. 2, [30OT].

There is so much good advice in the Testimonies that it is ridiculous for anyone to profess to be a believer and yet think he does not need these counsels.

So, just to remind you….

The insinuations of Satan took effect until they [the angels in Heaven] really believed that the Father and the Son were their enemies, and Satan, the benefactor. Satan has the same power and the same control over minds now, only increased by exercise and experience a hundred-fold. Men and women are today deceived, blinded by his insinuations and devices, and know it not. They are, in giving place to doubts and unbelief in regard to the work of God, and cherishing feelings of distrust and cruel jealousies, preparing themselves for complete deception. They rise up with bitter feelings against the ones who have dared to speak of their errors and reprove their sins. p. 103, Para. 1, [23OT].

As we near the close of time, the human mind is more readily affected by Satan’s devices. R&H, February 18, 1862 also in No. 7, page 83, center of the page.

He who dared to face, and tempt, and taunt, our Lord, and who had power to take him in his arms and carry him to a pinnacle of the temple, and up into an exceeding high mountain, will exercise his power to a wonderful degree upon the present generation, who are far inferior in wisdom to their Lord, and who are almost wholly ignorant of his subtlety and strength. p. 100, Para. 2, [8OT].

Sunday August 25, 2013

I like the story of Enoch, always have. It has a fascinating connection with Heaven. Here is what the Bible says.

And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 5:22-24

You can’t walk with God unless you are in agreement with him.

Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Amos 3:3

And the Bible is full of this. Here are just a few texts.

I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. Genesis 17:1

If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul 1 Kings 2:4

walk as children of light: Ephesians 5:2, 8

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, 1 John 1:7

Not being in agreement with God is called carnal. And it says that we are not walking with God.

are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 1 Corinthians 3:3

This is also about perfection.

“Those who have experienced the cleansing efficacy of the blood of Christ upon their hearts will be like their Master, pure, peaceable, and lowly of heart. No matter how bold and earnest one may be in his claims of spiritual soundness, and perfection of character, if he lacks Christian grace and humility, the dregs of the disease of sin is in his nature, and, unless it is purged from him, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. The truly holy, who walk with God like Enoch of old, will not be boastful of their purity, but be courteous, humble, unselfish, free from spiritual pride and exaltation. Those who know most of God, and keep their eye fixed on the Author and Finisher of their faith will see nothing good or great in themselves. They will feel, after doing all in their power to be faithful, that they are yet unprofitable servants. p. 211, Para. 3, [LS80].

Enoch is also a symbol of God’s people in the time of the end.

Enoch, separating himself from the world, and spending much of his time in prayer and in communion with God, represents God’s loyal people in the last days who will be separate from the world. p. 64, Para. 3, [1SP].

God’s people will separate themselves from the unrighteous practices of those around them, and will seek for purity of thought, and holy conformity to his will, until his divine image will be reflected in them. Like Enoch they will be fitting for translation to Heaven. p. 65, Para. 1, [1SP].

All this is in a perfect and beautiful harmony with what the 1858 Great Controversy has to say on this subject.

God’s people were then accepted with him. Jesus looked upon them with pleasure. His image was reflected in them. They had made a full sacrifice, an entire consecration, and expected to be changed to immortality. p. 141, 1858 Great Controversy

Yes, it was the time of the great disappointment, but it was also a time when God’s people were perfect, ready for the physical change from mortal to immortal, or, for the grave. I have watched many go to the grave. I can not count any that I knew who were preparing for translation. All had a false hope that God was going to wave a magic wand over them and change them into perfect Christians.

No, we must “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” 2 Corinthians 7:1. That’s God’s appointed way to get ready for Heaven.

Sabbath August 24, 2013

Today is another Sabbath day. Or is it? Do you know? Hopefully you are proving things you are told. How about really keeping the Sabbath? What am I talking about? You don’t work on the Sabbath, you fellowship in some way with believers; “What lack I yet?” is the language of your soul.

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Hebrews 3:7
Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: Hebrews 3:8
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Hebrews 3:9
Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. Hebrews 3:10
So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Hebrews 3:11
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 3:12
But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? Hebrews 3:17
And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? Hebrews 3:18
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Hebrews 3:19

Too many of us think that because we act like an Adventist we are believers. Yet, there is more, much more.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Hebrews 4:1
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Hebrews 4:2
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Hebrews 4:3
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. Hebrews 4:4
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Hebrews 4:5
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Hebrews 4:6
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Hebrews 4:7
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. Hebrews 4:8
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Hebrews 4:9
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Hebrews 4:10
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Hebrews 4:11
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

There is a rest for God’s people, right here it is.

Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, Isaiah 28:9-14

And the supporting verse.

not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:13

Especially on the Sabbath is the time to labour to enter into that rest, the rest of the “sweet love, joy, and peace” (The Day-Star) that can only come from God. This is the true “keeping the Sabbath” (page 205, 1858 Great Controversy) that will place you in the 144,000, who will “follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth.”

It’s going to take some belief, some labour, some study, some asking, some seeking, some knocking, some decision on your part to accept what God teaches through his words. A lamp, Psalms 119:105, is not a vessel that holds oil and has a wick sticking out of one end; no! it is God’s word….

As a writer I know I am expected to know my stuff. But, I am not a writer by profession. I am a carpenter, schooled in the arts of carpentry by hard experience. Most of my work has been interior mouldings of all types.

One day a young fellow joined the crew. I was installing crown between the beams and cabinets in the kitchen. One particular frame had an extreme angle, about fifteen degrees, and required a special jig setup to cut. This fellow was watching me work and when I brought in that assembled frame to install, he stepped up to ask me how in the world I could assemble such a frame and expect it to fit. I said, “well, lets see.” It was my day, the fit was perfect, in front of an audience.

With writing it is different. I struggle with spelling. Got four (4) right out of fifty (50) on one of my more memorable tests. I am an iconoclast at many things. One of my supervisors chewed me out for my constant modification of my tools. Well, they were often just not made right. Designed and executed by people who did not use them. I have a similar attitude about the many rules for English; of which, I find rather refreshing the freedom found in the KJV Bible of using God’s words to define his own words.

I recently bought a used book Lapsing Into a Comma, by Bill Walsh, Copy Desk Chief, Business Desk, the Washington Post. Even though considered a stylebook, it seems to be more a collection of notes written on small pieces of paper and stuffed into one’s pockets.

Then I came to page 61, bottom paragraph.

Before radio and TV, let alone 24-hour cable news and C-SPAN, the lying journalist could rest assured that very few people would ever catch such deception [changing a quote]. Today, however, it’s pretty likely that somewhere someone is watching CNN and …. After all, what is the point of quote marks if not to signal that what’s inside is a verbatim account of what was said?

In our work, here at sopvindicated.org, we understand this, nearly perfectly. I am very sure that Willie was resting “assured that very few people would ever catch such deception.” Many of our readers own the White Estate 2008 Research CD. At about $20.00 it’s a great price and a very fast tool. I can copy and paste a document from there into WordPerfect and do the same with the original document and in seconds have a comparison, all in living color.

Willie could never have dreamed of the tool computers would be in our day, unraveling all Willie’s footsteps. Showing to the world the proof of the claims, such as “rubber stamp testimonies.” See The Early Elmshaven Years, page 46, at the bottom.

Unfortunately for the GCSDA church, the die has been cast, the strong delusion (2 Thessalonians 2:11) has been chosen by God (Isaiah 66:4) and only those who become ASKers, ask, seek, knock, will be given the mystery of the kingdom of God (Mark 4:10-11).

Many people are offended by this saying, yet it is even so, as the texts prove. Brothers and Sisters, there is no time to linger like Lot did. Don’t count on an angel showing up to drag you out of an apostate church and into Heaven. No, it’s only the ASKers that will make it—if they are faithful!

Come with us, we are following the Christ!
