It seems from our study that the loud cry will be a loud hidden treasure message. Spiritual things spiritually understood effectually destroys false fronts, read false claims, churches, &c., exposes lies for what they really are and, in truth, is truth shining forth from God which of it’s self attracts the honest in heart. Notice what Proverbs 8 has for us.

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?  1
She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.  2
She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.  3
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.  4
O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.  5
Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.  6
For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.  7
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.  8
They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.  9
Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.  10

We know the Spirit of Prophecy is the voice of truth, and of reproof and rebuke; which is why it is generally hated.

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.  Isaiah 58:1

Truth must be a correct exposure of the lie. Unfortunately both the SDA and the other churches are fallen into the same ditch, that is, they are all using a false bible, something other than the KJV. They have bought into the lies of a seductive serpent who tells them these other translations are easier to read. They are not told that the spiritual meanings have been destroyed.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.  Revelation 18:2

With the loud cry of the true spiritual meaning of such things as Babylon, habitation, devils, hold, foul spirit, cage, unclean, hateful bird, &c., the false foundations upon which the churches of today have been building will be exposed as shifting sands, not the Rock, from which flows rivers of honey and butter.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth,  Matthew 9:13

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?  Acts 2:12

Don’t take too long to decide, be a believer!

Surely, steadily, we move into this, our future. Help we must have. All must become as little children when it comes to believing in God and his word. He is the only one who can save us from ourselves.

None are in greater danger than he who feels that his mountain standeth sure. It is then that his feet will begin to slide. Temptations will come, one after another, and so imperceptible will be their influence upon the life and character, that, unless kept by divine power, he will be corrupted by the spirit of the world, and will fail to carry out the purpose of God. All that man has, God has given him, and he who improves his abilities to God’s glory, will be an instrument to do good; but we can no more live a religious life without constant prayer and the performance of religious duties, than we can have physical strength without partaking of temporal food. We must daily sit down at God’s table. We must receive strength from the Living Vine, if we are nourished. p. 55, Para. 2, [30OT].

Notice the spiritual language used here. Jerry found this one for me. 😉 But no one can sit at God’s literal table now! that is impossible. Spiritually we can.

Since God is the author of both, the Bible and the authentic Spirit of Prophecy, we now expect to notice more and more these terms in the text.

As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus. Daniel 1:17-21

For those who honor God with obedience to his word, they can expect to be blessed, as Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were.

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.  Deuteronomy 5:10

but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.  1 Samuel 2:30

The Present Truth, No. 4, the first five pages (this would be pages 31-35 global paging at the top of the page, in brackets), is an article by James White titled Repairing the Breach in the Law of God. If you do not have this article, just click the link to download the pdf.

Filled with important information and definitions pertinent to our current position, all would be greatly benefitted by a careful reading of this article. We will present some highlights.

James correctly identifies that the repairing of the breach is the same work as the sealing of the 144,000. The breach is not just the setting up of Sunday, it is the denial of the true word of God, the KJV of the Bible. It is the denial of the authentic Spirit of Prophecy as being from God.

The leaders of the SDA church are the ones that “say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.”  Job 21:14 In Ezekiel 13:3-5 God describes these people.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

He further calls them…

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.  Luke 11:52

Here is how the SDA pastors hinder people from being sealed.

The Bible plainly declares in Isaiah 28:12 that this hidden language is the Rest of the Sabbath. It must be put together with Hebrews 4. It is this Rest of the Sabbath that seals the 144,000.

It is this spiritual understanding of God’s word that the SDA church leadership deny. They claim you have to use Greek, Hebrew and a host of man’s interpretation to understand the Bible.

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear [receive instruction] of the LORD:  Proverbs 1:29

I said, Surely thou wilt fear me,
thou wilt receive instruction;  Zephaniah 3:7

At the bottom of page 34, the left column, is a paragraph that has a huge amount of definitions that will greatly expand your understanding as you read other things. Highly recommended!

Repetition is good. That is learning. This passage from Mark we have covered before and today we want to bring out some other things, simple, direct, and perhaps obvious.

I once heard about a great football coach who was asked what he was going to do upon taking over a new team. His reply was simply, “We are going to work on the basics.” Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the basics when dealing with something so large, like the plan of Salvation.

Most people eat at least a couple times a day. My breakfast is now cooking. Don’t forget to read (eat), the break–fast God provides for you. And get serious, real serious about your future. Do you really believe in eternal life? Are you serious enough to ask Christ the meaning of what you are reading?

And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:  Mark 4:10-11

What is a parable? God tells us, he is not hiding the truth.

I will incline mine ear to a parable:
I will open my dark saying upon the harp.  Psalms 49:4

I will open my mouth in a parable:
I will utter dark sayings of old:  Psalms 78:2

A parable is a dark saying, but what is that?

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation;
the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.  Proverbs 1:6

Now we have a progression. The mystery of the kingdom of God is done in parables, which are dark sayings, which are proverbs and the words of the wise, which are the interpretation, of the mystery of the kingdom of God. It’s like a big circle.

Check out Proverbs.

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; 2
To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;  3
To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. 4
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:  5
To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.  6

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:   Proverbs 1:2-7

And, just to make sure you understand exactly what the fear of the Lord is, God has made it very plain.

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom;  Proverbs 15:33

Come to the word of God. Come and eat, freely, of all the mystery of the kingdom of God.

A piece of information has just come to hand. Is it new light? You be the judge.

We have written on this point a couple of other times, here and here.

In the counterfeit SOP there is the following statement. It has been republished seven other times. Here is the statement.

Satan cannot read our thoughts, but he can see our actions, hear our words; and from his long knowledge of human family, he can shape his temptations to take advantage of our weak points of character. And how often do we let him into the secret of how he may obtain the victory over us.  RH, May 19, 1891 par. 9

It is my belief that Satan is here appealing to the pride of man, causing him to think there is some place, or space, where we can have privacy from Satan; thus, in this space, having a superior position to the evil one.

This is opposed to the idea that we are helpless and totally dependant on the mercy and protection of God from Satan’s wrath, for life, health, and any other blessings we enjoy, even a shelter to live within.

James wrote the book Signs of the Times in 1853. On page 58 is the following excerpt, though preceded by a portion of introduction from page 53.

The following is from a letter written by Hon. J. W. Edmonds. He says: p. 53, Para. 2, [SIGN1853].

Preparatory to meeting a circle, I have sat down alone in my room and carefully prepared a series of questions to be propounded, and I have been surprised to find my questions answered, and in the precise order in which I wrote them, without my even taking my memorandum out of my pocket, and when I knew that not a person present even knew that I had prepared questions, much less what they were. My most secret thoughts, those which I have never uttered to mortal man or woman, have been freely spoken as if I had uttered them. Purposes which I have privily entertained have been publicly revealed; and I have once and again been admonished that my every thought was known to, and could be disclosed by, the intelligence which was thus manifesting itself. p. 58, Para. 1, [SIGN1853].

I consider this to be, as it were, Satan “sticking his foot in his mouth.” He has “told on himself” giving witness to the facts, that he does have access to our minds, even our very thoughts.

But you will have to decide for yourself….

From time to time something unusual comes along, this would be one of those. The movie Sheffey was promoted to me by a dear sister, so I checked it out. It was so hard not to cry, I gave up.

This guy appears to have been converted through the loud cry of the first angel’s message. The timing was right and the effects were permanent.

And every report of the man states he was ridiculous. Much more of a good recommendation than a put-off, knowing something of the hidden treasure. See Isaiah 33:19 and the marginal note on the word, stammering.

Coming from such a stiff, formal, anti-Holy Ghost, background, the SDA church, I have a strong feeling that I have a great many things to learn about really worshiping God in a public setting.

James has this to say about that.

Once the Advent lecturers, as the held forth the word of life, being filled with the Holy Ghost, spake with power, and the happy hearer was often heard to respond, amen; and, at time, shouts of praise to God would ring through the assembly. But Oh! how changed! The pure testimony is crushed, and in many Advent congregations, if one should dare to shout and praise the Lord, and “GIVE GLORY TO HIM,” as we did during the flying angel’s message, Rev. xiv, 6,7, he would be silenced as a fanatic, as having mesmerism, or some wicked spirits, and told perhaps, that all the Spirit of God there is, is the Spirit of the Word, and that God does not teach us at all, separate from the Word.
O, that all the true children had stood fast in the liberty wherewith Christ set them free in 1843, and 1844, and not been entangled in the cruel yoke of bondage [formalism].

Excerpt from the movie, towards the end of it.

God never forces his will on men. He calls them unto himself.  But if they will not follow him, then they have to go their own way. God’s people didn’t want it, and God let them have their own way. Every time we give up a part of our faith, to try and fit in with the ways of the world, we lose it forever! We lose a precious part of God’s promise.  Sacrifice to the world, and the world will never give it back!

And some day, when the world tells us we can no longer have our religion, except where they say,  and God is driven from our schools , and our government, and our homes! then God’s people can look back and know that our religion was not taken from us, it was given up, handed over, bit by bit until there was nothing left.   1902 Brother Sheffey

From the following site.

Released in 1978 by Unusual Films
This quality dramatic motion picture portrays the inspirational true life story of Robert Sheffey, a circuit riding preacher during the 1800’s. This full length feature film, over 2 hours long, begins with the conversion of a young Sheffey and follows his life as he rides through the Appalachain mountains proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a well produced drama that shows what one person can do if they are fully committed to Jesus Christ and His word. Sheffey was a man of prayer, tireless worker, soul winner, and had a servant’s heart of love which is clearly demonstrated in this film. It’s a great story for the family and one you’ll enjoy over and over. http://www.christianfilms.com/sheffeydvd.htm

Sabbath February 23, 2013

Tempting God is not a good idea. Because the children of Israel did that ten times, God refused them entrance into the land of Canaan. In these last days, it may not take ten times.

I often wondered about what it was the children of Israel actually did. The other day I finally did a search on the word, tempt, with “regular expressions” as a search criteria. I was amazed at the definitions there found as the light shined in my face.

Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?  Exodus 17:2

And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?  Exodus 17:7

Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.  Psalms 78:41

To chide with God’s servant, or to turn back when God says go forward, is to tempt God.

Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;  Numbers 14:22

Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:  Psalms 78:56

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. Psalms 95:8-11

Provoking God is not keeping his word. The seriousness of this is found in the last line, they will not be allowed into the Rest! (see Isaiah 28:12)

And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.  Psalms 78:18

They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. Psalms 106:13-14

Asking of God something for your lust is tempting him.

Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.  Isaiah 7:10-12

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.  Matthew 16:1

Asking for a sign is tempting God.

And now we call the proud happy;
yea, they that work wickedness are    set up;
yea, they that     tempt God        are even delivered.  Malachi 3:15

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?  Matthew 22:18

Working wickedness is tempting God.

This throws a whole new light on our steps (actions) and what we ought to be doing. Not entering into the Rest, is to not get sealed. Seek truth, with all your heart, every bit of it, make sure of it. God knows every secret, every one, be straight with him.

Becoming more and more sensitized by study to the parallelism in the Bible has also created the same mindset when studying the Spirit of Prophecy. And this one really snapped out at me!

It is located on page 12 and starts on line 6, up from the bottom, as it appears in red text below.

His nature was without the taint of sin. As the Son of man, he prayed to the Father, showing that human nature requires all the divine support which man can obtain that he may be braced for duty and prepared for trial. As the Prince of life, he had power with God, and prevailed for his people. This Saviour, who prayed
for those that felt no need of prayer, and wept
for those that felt no need of tears, is now before the throne, to receive and present to his Father the petitions of those for whom he prayed on earth. The example of Christ is for us to follow. Prayer is a necessity in our labor for the salvation of souls. God alone can give the increase of the seed we sow. p. 12, Para. 1, [30OT].

This means that prayer is tears. And for confirmation we have much from the Bible.

Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.  2 Kings 20:5

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.  Psalms 39:12

And in these verses we can add cry to the definition of praying.

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.  2 Samuel 22:7

Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:  1 Kings 8:28

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;  Hebrews 5:7

We need to add here that crying and tears alone, without a reaching after God, is not prayer.

God just brought another instance of the Bible confirming what the authentic Spirit of Prophecy says as being only a simplification of the Bible and not new light. This is always such a real joy to behold!!!

Once again this grand and awesome harmony stands in a clear beauty, unmatched by anything man could do alone; no, only the hand of God is thus capable! Praise his name!!!

I was looking for some information on a word, digging in Job, and my eyes fell on 33:29, but we give it in some context.

18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.  19  He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:  20  So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.  21  His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.  22  Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.  23  If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:  24  Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.  25  His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:  26  He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.  27  He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;  28  He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.  29  Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,  30  To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living. Job 33:18-30

And next is the passage from the Spirit of Prophecy that is a match and that I have oft’ wondered at; what was God doing? The answer is, of course, in both places.

It was the plan of the Almighty to frequently bring the children of Israel into straight [strait] places, and then, in their great necessity, to deliver them by his power, that they might recognize his special regard for them, and glorify his name. p. 329, Para. 2, [2SP ].

Just found another passage to add to the mix.

The Lord frequently places us in difficult positions to stimulate us to greater exertion. In his providence special annoyances sometimes occur to test our patience and faith. God gives us lessons of trust. He would teach us where to look for help and strength in the time of need. Thus we obtain practical knowledge of his divine will, which we so much need in our life experience. Faith grows strong in earnest conflict with doubt and fear. p. 165, Para. 1, [26OT].

God’s plan to save us is so comprehensive and complete that none will have any excuse for their rejection of eternal life.

Wednesday February 20, 2013

I was looking up something else and this chapter of Isaiah came to my attention. I just decided to put the whole chapter here because I saw a couple of other points also.

And there shall come forth a rod [Messiah] out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:  2  And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear [instruction] of the LORD;  3  And shall make him of quick  understanding in the fear [instruction] of the LORD:

The peg words are, the spirit of, and this parallelism shows that these seven items are all the same thing.

and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:  4  But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod [instruction]  of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.  5  And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Most recognize that the first five verses are a prophecy about Christ, as a prophet during his first advent. The next few verses are widely recognized to be a description of the earth made new.

6  The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.  7  And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.  8  And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.  9  They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.  10  And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Notice how the subject matter jumps from one extreme to another. The next verses are clearly talking about the time before the deliverance of the saints.

11  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.  12  And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.  13  The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.  14  But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.  15  And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.  16  And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt. Isaiah 11:1-16

Too many people want context to sanction a lie. Context is used as a tool to manipulate thinking. In this chapter, called context, it begins with a prophecy of Christ, jumps directly into a description of the new earth, or Heaven, if you like, and jumps again into some time before the saints are delivered.

God is the author of his word, not Isaiah or any other of his prophets. We are limited to following where he leads,… even if it seems unexplainable at the time.
