We examine the word, report, as taken from the following verses. This little exercise is an excellent example of the breadth of God’s thoughts as found in the definitions of this one word.

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart:

and a good report maketh the bones fat.  Proverbs 15:30

the light of the eyes = a good report

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?  Isaiah 53:1

report = the arm of the Lord revealed

And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:  2 Chronicles 9:5

report = acts and wisdom

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.  Acts 6:3

honest report = full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  1 Corinthians 2:13

This verse is just a reminder of what the wisdom of God is, “comparing spiritual things with spiritual,” which is exactly what the hidden treasure is.

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?  Romans 10:16

report = not obeying the gospel

Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and
if there be any praise, think on these things.  Philippians 4:8

a good report = true, honest, just, pure, lovely, virtue, praise

By the word of truth,
by the power of God,
by the armour of righteousness

on the right hand and on the left,
By honour and dishonour,
by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;  2 Corinthians 6:7,8

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.  Acts 10:22

good report = just, fearing God

Fear means to receive instruction from God. Cornelius had the hidden treasure because he was instructed by God.

16  Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for
a foundation
a stone,
a tried stone,
a precious corner stone,
a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17  Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
And your covenant with death shall be disannulled,
and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19  From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report. Isaiah 28:16-19

They will not hear, nor understand.

More on health.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.  Psalms 42:11
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.  Psalms 43:5

That thy   way may be known upon earth,
thy saving health among all nations.  Psalms 67:2

the tongue of the wise is health.  Proverbs 12:18

a faithful ambassador is health.  Proverbs 13:17

It is amazing to see all the ways God is rightly dividing his word.

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.  Proverbs 16:24
the words of the pure are pleasant words.  Proverbs 15:26

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,
and thine health shall spring forth speedily:
and thy righteousness shall go before thee;
the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.  Isaiah 58:8

We looked for peace, but no good came; and
for a time of health, and behold trouble!  Jeremiah 8:15

For I will restore health unto thee,
and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD;
because they called thee an Outcast, saying,
This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.  Jeremiah 30:17

Behold,
I will bring it health and cure, and
I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.  Jeremiah 33:6

Paul had an interesting experience, and from that we have instruction.

Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.  Acts 27:34-35
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  2 Timothy 2:15

meat = bread, breaking bread = rightly dividing

And an extra, just something we found.

Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.  Isaiah 7:15
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.  Hebrews 5:14

Butter and honey are actually strong meat.
This is in total agreement with No. 11, page 46. Check it out.

Continuing our look into the health reform and healing as seen in the language of Canaan, the hidden treasure.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because
he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath     sent     me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised,  Luke 4:18

anointed = sent, preach the gospel = heal; amazing!!

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.  Luke 9:2

And this text says the same thing, confirming the former text.

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.  John 12:40
For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.  Acts 28:27

converted = healing

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

forgive = heal
Sin might not equal land, it will have to be studied out.

a time to       kill,        and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;  Ecclesiastes 3:3

kill = break down, heal = build up

For I will restore health unto thee,
and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.  Jeremiah 30:17

health = heal

The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.  Proverbs 26:22

Another definition for words, they equal wounds. How many times I have wounded someone with my words!

For they [God’s words] are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.  Proverbs 4:22

Interesting use for God’s words.

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.  Proverbs 16:24

We just need a connection from pleasant to God’s word to make this a perfect match to the text above it.

There is [tongue] that speaketh like the piercings of a sword:  Proverbs 12:18

Could this one have something to do with Ezekiel 9?

And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance.  Genesis 43:28

Being in good health is being alive.

Sabbath December 29, 2012

We have just revamped the Articles page on this site, and added two new articles; one, about the 144,000, which is about the correct understanding of that group; the other is about W. C. White and his role in the production of the counterfeit SOP.

Numbered 16 and 17, respectively, they make a good place to take people that are new to these concepts. Enjoy!

We have finished the 1858 Great Controversy, compared with, Early Writings. The last half of EW is the counterfeit of Spiritual Gifts Vol. 1, aka, the 1858 Great Controversy. It will be posted soon!

I hope you are taking advantage of e-Sword.net. It is a free bible searching software that functions perfectly for our purposes of searching within the hidden treasure. The speed with which you can find other texts that link to the one you are studying is awesome!

That speed is key to connecting with the needed instruction in today’s world of, all too often, self-imposed pressure. Someone said once, “Just do less!” And I consider that to be excellent advice.

Take the time to sit and think about your life.

Because the authentic Spirit of Prophecy is “not to give new light; but to impress with vividness upon the heart the truths of inspiration already revealed,” (No. 20, p. 42-49) we expect to find within the language of Heaven, the hidden treasure, the truths that have already been revealed. Jerry has just found such, involving the subject of healing and health.

What follows is a listing of some of the texts that deal with this subject and comments as to how we might relate to the truths there found. While this is not a study of parallelism or of peg words we may mark either and make other comments as well. The study of God’s word is extremely deep, very broad, and stretches farther than we know; we know not how to measure it. Perhaps in eternity.

Usually the ones who have health don’t really care about a study of it, or healing. They have no need. For the rest of us, we know that sin kills, God heals.

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me:
I kill, and I make alive;
I wound, and I heal:
neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. Deuteronomy 32:39

Notice the peg words that identify the definitions.
kill = wound, make alive = heal
God wants us to understand that healing is about making alive. In this arena of health and healing the distinction between the physical and spiritual becomes blurred.

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Jeremiah 17:14

Healing is placed equal to being saved. This is as true in temporal life as spiritual, but with spiritual the effects are eternal, as opposed to a few years.

I will heal their backsliding,
I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. Hosea 14:4

heal = love

God wants to heal — love, save, make alive — all mankind, but each one must be free to make their own decision.

Job is a strange book. It is full, up to the brim, with hidden, mysterious treasure. Remember, “Every word of God is pure.” Proverbs 30:5 We stand on Holy Ground, made so by the presence of God in his word. That we have difficulty understanding it should not be any surprise, he did create us…..

1  Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2  Should not the multitude of words {parallelism} be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? {the hidden treasure is answered by many verses}
3  Should thy lies make men hold their peace? {no} and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
4  For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. {my understanding is clean, or clear}
5  But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; {words are the fruit of the lips, God is to open to his people the true meaning of the hidden treasure, but we find them words of reproof and rebuke}
6  And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, {hidden treasure} that they are double to that which is! {more than one word will answer, two words, two or three verses, more than one meaning}  Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
7  Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? {searching is how we enter the hidden treasure, only the Holy Ghost can teach us to find God}
8  It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
9  The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea. {no measure in the hidden treasure, totally huge!!!}

Here are my comments from a first realization of this truth, given by God to man.
http://sopvindicated.org/AuthorsBlog/discoveries-of-truth/friday-may-18-2012/

10  If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him? {so often we want to cram God into our box of understanding, but nothing works, he has his wonders to preform. Our place is to be instructed, not to restrict the hand of God; as in the word restrain, God forms his words as he sees fit}
11  For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?
12  For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass’s colt. {we are wicked and want to be saved}
13  If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him; {ask = ask seek knock, a true seeking after God, with our hearts right toward him}
14  If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
15  For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot {exactly how we are to appear before the throne}; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16  Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away: {remember the story of Ellen under the tree of life? when asked, she could not remember trials}
17  And thine age shall be clearer {cloud of dew} than the noonday {the brightest part of the day}; thou shalt shine {teach} forth, thou shalt be as the morning {a time of the rising of the sun}.
18  And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
19  Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee. {the effect of the language of Heaven upon the soul is courage, founded on truth}
20  But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost. {the final end of the wicked} Job 11:1-20

I got sent a report, purported to be from Africa. Here is an excerpt.

A Seventh-day Adventist pastor was asked to come to a city where Christians were being persecuted and when he arrived at the home found to his amazement that he had been invited to the home of the Muslim Imam or Cleric. He at once became very afraid but knocked on the door and was invited in only to find the Imam and 30 people who asked to be baptized in a secret baptism! The pastor said, Wait! How do I know if you are ready?, and the Imam very seriously and with awe told the pastor that for several months an angel had come each evening and instructed him in the teachings of the Bible. He, in turn, had taught these 30 the truths of scripture. When quizzed by the pastor, indeed, he was very well grounded in all the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church ! The pastor baptized the entire group.

Ok, let’s take a serious look at this.

~~~
1.) The pastor wants to do what all SDA pastors are trained to do, make those who are requesting baptism take a doctrine test.
Not what we are taught by God to do. Just read about Phillip and him being directed by the Holy Ghost.
~~~
2.) An angel comes and gives instruction to people because the SDA church is not doing it.
Not what we are told. Very specifically, God told us that the work man does not do, the angels will not do.

The Truth:

Sinners, who are perishing for lack of knowledge, must be left in ignorance and darkness, unless men shall carry to them the light of truth. God will not send angels from Heaven to do the work which he has left for man. p. 88, Para. 1, [24OT].

The Lie:

God will employ agencies whose origin man will be unable to discern; angels will do a work which men might have had the blessing of accomplishing, had they not neglected to answer the claims of God.   {RH, December 15, 1885 par. 8}

~~~
3.) These angels are instructing people to become good SDAs, a church in total apostasy!! These angels must be Satan’s angels, for God’s angels would never endorse the lies of Satan.
God does nothing in partnership with Satan.  p. 129, Para. 1,[27OT].
~~~
4.) The pastor testifies that those instructed by the angel were well grounded in all the teachings of the SDA church. This is proof positive that the angel was from Satan, because the SDA church has rejected the light of the midnight cry, the daily, the trinity, baptism, communion, separation from the world, teaching from the pure KJV Bible, seeks instruction from the world for what to teach SDA children, seeks instruction from the world on how to heal the sick, is constantly trying to please the Catholic church, I’m running out of ink here . . .

God will never enter co-partnership with worldlings. p. 45, Para. 1, [16OT].

Here is another excerpt.

In a country inhabited by a large Hindu population there are now over 30,000 Hindus studying the Adventist message due to divine intervention that has surprised area pastors. Muslims are as well being given dreams of a Man in white who tells them to go to the Seventh-day Adventists for truth about the last days. This man in white is identified as Jesus Himself when they learn the truths of scripture.

What!!! SDAs have the truth about the last days!!!
Christ is the one knocking on the door of the Laodicean SDA church. He is NOT going to endorse error, period! He stands ashamed at a SDA church that professes to follow him, but are pandering to the pope, giving him a gold medallion, embracing Jesuit forms of education, and denying that the KJV Bible is pure. Shame, shame, shame!

All such are the lies of Satan, disguised as miracles, designed to create casualties out of the casual.

While researching W. C. White, something was discovered. If you examine the Review and Herald articles, in book form, published by the GCSDA church in six large volumes, you will discover that ALL of Ellen’s articles, published before James’ death, will be contained within the first volume.

Further, you will discover that just under half of volume one contains all the aforementioned articles. The first 266 pages in total, which covers a period from August 1849 to August 1881, for a total of 32 years, with 302 pages making up the remainder of that first volume. The remaining portion of the five and a half volumes cover a period of 34 years. Each volume contains about 500 pages or more.

So James died August 6, 1881 and just 10 days later, articles by EGW begin appearing in the Review and Herald on a weekly basis. I see that Willy has his hand firmly on the wheel now. What do you think?

I pause to quickly add up the total pages involved.

For all six volumes, just adding up the pages, alleged to be photocopies of original R&H articles by Ellen, of the books, comes to 3,254 total pages for 34 years of writing as opposed to 32 years of writing contained within 266 pages.

Humm . . . .  Interesting . . . . One might be inclined to think that James was holding up production! But I doubt that. It’s much more likely that Willie & Co. has taken over production. Other evidence proves this to be so. Just click on the topic, W. C. White, and you will find what I have found, to date.

Today we are just doing some random texts, no particular subject in mind but it does have a “secret” leaning; commenting as it appears to be good.

Psalms 25:12-14
12  What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
The fear of the Lord — is him, teaching the way.
13  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14  The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
The secret of the Lord is the language of Canaan, the hidden treasure, and it is with them that receive instruction from God.

Job 15:8
8  Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain {rest—train—rain} wisdom to thyself?
secret = wisdom
A very interesting word usage. In it’s constituent parts, this is an actual representation of the path of the 144,000. They first have to enter that rest (the hidden treasure, the language of Heaven), then they are trained in it, it’s proper use and purpose, then comes the latter rain. Word science taken to an art form!

Deuteronomy 29:29
29  The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
This is the whole purpose of God’s word, to instruct us in how to be obedient.

Proverbs 3:32
32  For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
The secret of godliness, the hidden treasure, the language of Heaven.

Daniel 2:20-22
20  Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21  And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and     knowledge to them that know understanding:
22  He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
Only the Holy Ghost, God’s Holy Spirit, can instruct us correctly. Anyone can read this blog, but if they are not asking, seeking, knocking, they will not be instructed by the Spirit. This does not negate the fact that we all learn at different speeds. Remember Jacob said, “And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.”

Daniel 2:30
30  But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
The secrets need to be interpreted.

Daniel 2:47
47  The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
Daniel’s God is a source of the secret is the author of the secret

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.  Amos 3:7
All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.  Matthew 13:34-35
Secrets are doctrines.

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,  Romans 16:25
The secret things are the mystery of godliness, which we all strive to enter into.

In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 2 Corinthians 13:1
In two or three verses doctrine is established.

Monday December 24, 2012

Every day I stand amazed at the wonders of the hidden treasure, this language of Canaan, the language of Heaven! In just a few texts today I want to show you the latter rain.

Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
    With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
    With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. Job 12

    To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
    To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
    To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
    A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
    To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
    The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1

To whom he said,
This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and
this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.  Isaiah 28:12

From the 1858 Great Controversy, page 186, “it is the latter rain; the refreshing from the presence of the Lord; the loud cry of the third angel.”

I will    pour out     my  spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you.  Proverbs 1:23

How many times I have heard of the “outpouring of the Holy Spirit” I can not count, it’s a lot. Now, today, for the first time, we have at hand one of God’s definitions for that phrase.

pour out = make known
spirit = words

God’s wonders to behold!! This is in perfect harmony with what we have been studying. God’s word is a lamp and a light, Psalms 119:105; then in Genesis 15:17 God adds the definition of “burning” to lamp and a look at what Christ said about John the Baptist in John 5:35, Christ called him “a burning and a shining light.” Psalms 119:135 teaches us that “shine” means “to teach,” which brings us to our paraphrase; John the Baptist was God’s word teaching God’s word!

And since John was a special representative of the 144,000, this all means that the 144,000 are God’s word teaching God’s word! Nothing can be so important! This is the refreshing! This is the rest! This is the pouring out of God’s Holy Spirit in his words into your mind to re-create in you in words of God the image of Jesus, which is found in purity in John 1:1.

Christ is the Word! of God! God’s work is to put his Word, Christ, in us, that we become that Word; not that we become Christ or God, no, we reflect Christ’s image perfectly, the Word of God. How amazing that God would do this!!! Yet we will become that, one of the 144,000.

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. Joel 2:28-29

    And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: Acts 2:17-18

It’s no wonder that the 144,000 will prophesy, dream dreams, see visions, heal the sick, and all manner of miracles, just like Christ did —for they are in his image, perfectly, the word of God, not a god, no, but they reflect the image of Christ, perfectly.

Wow . . . . how do I get my mind around this? Everything I know about this application of the spiritual words of God defining these spiritual words of God fits, perfectly.

Time for some meditation and prayer.

Sunday December 23, 2012

Someone asked me to comment on my understanding of the 144,000.
This is the short and sweet version.

First, we will cover some ground to ensure we are both on the same page.

I use the KJV Bible, only. There are over 5,200 documents relating to the Bible, extant today, and 99.992% of them are in perfect harmony with the KJV. There are 44 documents that are not in harmony with the KJV and virtually all the other translations are founded on those. I call them, “Defiled Bread.” Or, counterfeit bibles.

I use only proven, authentic Spirit of Prophecy materials. With my own eyes, I have seen the original Testimonies, and most of the other books, though not all. I am a steward of an original, leather bound 1858 Great Controversy providentially given to my care by God. On this page http://sopvindicated.org/Sopvindicated/CpW%20Docs/CounterfeitSOP.htm the counterfeit SOP is exposed by a computerized comparison between the original and the changed.

In the authentic Testimony No. 20, page 44, God, the true author, tells us that the Testimonies are similar to the Bible, using these words; “God has been please to give you line upon line, and precept upon precept;” this is exactly like Isaiah 28:13. In part, this means that we must move between it’s different parts, just like the Bible, to get a clear understanding.

With these things in mind we turn to the very first publication of the first vision God gave to his church in 1846, The DayStar, and find these words.

They [those who left the Advent faith] fell all the way along the path one after another, until we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus’ coming. The living saints, 144,000, in number, know and understand the voice, while the wicked thought it was thunder & and earthquake.

For a proper understanding, these two sentences must be known as the first line and precept that must be upon the next line and precept. These we find in the 1858 Great Controversy, page 205.

But there was one clear place of settled glory, from whence came the voice of God, like many waters, which shook the heavens and the earth. There was a mighty earthquake. The graves were shaken open, and those who had died in faith under the third angel’s message, keeping the Sabbath, came forth from their dusty beds, glorified, to hear the covenant of peace that God was to make with those who had kept his law.
And as God spake the day and hour of Jesus’ coming, and delivered the everlasting covenant to his people, he spake one sentence, and then paused, while the words were rolling through the earth. The Israel of God stood with their eyes fixed upwards, listening to the words as they came from the mouth of Jehovah, and rolled through the earth like peals of loudest thunder. p. 205, Para. 3, [1SG ].

Now that we have the other line, and the other precept, we gain a clear, correct understanding of the origin of the 144,000. By comparing these two lines and precepts, we see a clear connection in the words perfectly reproduced in both, “the voice of God, like many waters.”

By a careful reading of what occurs after this phrase, we see that in both lines, in each precept, the Father announces the day and hour of Jesus’ coming. But in the second is additional information not given in the first.

We find two items of interest. First, the Father calls from the grave “those who had died in faith under the third angel’s message, keeping the Sabbath.” Second, God proclaims a “covenant of peace” which he makes with the 144,000.

And it is only after this special resurrection that they are called, “The living saints, 144,000, in number.”

The other large question in the minds of many deals with the sealing of the 144,000. In order to answer this question properly, we again are pointed to God’s plan of “line upon line, precept upon precept” for a correct understanding.

I then saw the third angel. Said my accompanying angel, “Fearful is his work. Awful is his mission. He is the angel that is to select the wheat from the tares, and seal or bind the wheat for the heavenly garner. These things should engross the whole mind, the whole attention.” p. 38, Para. 3, [SUPCEV].

So it is the third angel of Revelation 14 that is to do the sealing. Many are not aware that this angel began his work October 23, 1844 with the vision given to Hiram Edson in the cornfield. We have further confirmation of this from Testimony No. 23, page 22, in these words, “Especially in the closing work for the church, [God’s true church] in the sealing time of the one hundred and forty-four thousand, who are to stand without fault before the throne of God,….”

And one more item, which taken together with the above, proves that the angel of Ezekiel 9, with the writer’s inkhorn, is the same as the third angel of Revelation 14.

An angel returned from the earth with a writer’s inkhorn by his side, and reported to Jesus that his work was done, that the saints were numbered and sealed. Then I saw Jesus, who had been ministering before the ark containing the ten commandments, throw down the censer. He raised his hands upward, and with a loud voice said, It is done. 1858 Great Controversy, p. 197.

To summarize, from these passages we find that the 144,000 count started with the third angel’s message, on October 23, 1844, and that probation will end when that count is completed.

It is a fearful time in which we now live; for 168 years the count has been continuing, soon it will end.
