Ezekiel 21 is one of the connecting links showing the spiritual slaughter of Ezekiel 9, as opposed to the literal. It’s about the Word of God versus the defiled bread, or what is known as the counterfeit bibles. It is the hidden treasure, that is God’s great weapon of war. It’s the hidden treasure that going to expose all things false, and present the truth in the full light of day, so that all will have a clear decision to make during the Loud Cry.

Sadly, too many are taking mind altering substances into their bodies; they will not be able to make a clear decision at that time. It’s part of Satan’s plan.

    Satan is now using every device in this sealing time, to keep the minds of God’s people from the present truth, and to cause them to waver. p. 12, Para. 1, [CEV].

It’s one of the devices of Satan. Also, you will remember, No. 23, p.103, that Satan has 100 times greater power to deceive. Satan has deceived many into trusting doctor’s advise, and are consuming tons of powerful, poisonous drugs, every year. This must be combined with R&H, February 18, 1862, article, “As we near the close of time, the human mind is more readily affected by Satan’s devices.” We have no hope outside of Christ.

    And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel, And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked. Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north: That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more. Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes. And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD. Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished: It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree. And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer. Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh. Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD. Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time,

I believe this to be reference to the six men of Ezekiel 9. Doubling a third time equals six. The “city” mentioned in Ezekiel 9, can be defined as “church.” (us e-Sword to look it up) I believe these to be the “angel’s of the churches” of Revelation’s “letters to the churches.” And what sword is sharper than God’s Word?

    the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers. I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.

I have long been aware that Obadiah is about the SDA church. Esau was the one who despised his birthright. He represents those who refuse to walk in the light of the Midnight Cry.

    The circumstances of Esau’s selling his birthright represent the unrighteous, who consider the redemption purchased for them by Christ of little value, and sacrifice their heirship to Heaven for perishable treasures. Many are controlled by their appetite, and rather than to deny an unhealthy appetite, will sacrifice high and valuable considerations. If one must be yielded, the gratification of a depraved appetite, or the high and heavenly blessings which God promises only to the self-denying and Godfearing, the clamors of appetite, as in the case of Esau, will generally prevail, and for self-gratification, God and Heaven will be virtually despised. Even professed Christians will use tea, coffee, snuff, tobacco and spirits, all of which benumb the finer sensibilities of the soul. If you tell them they cannot have Heaven, and these hurtful indulgences, and that they should deny their appetites, and cleanse themselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of the Lord, they are offended, look sorrowful, and conclude that if the way is so strait that they cannot indulge in their gross appetites, they will not walk any longer in it. p. 108, Para. 1, [1SP ].

    Especially will the corrupt passions control the mind of those who value Heaven of so little worth. Health will be sacrificed, the mental faculties enfeebled, and Heaven will be sold for these pleasures, as Esau sold his birthright. Esau was a reckless person. He made a solemn oath that Jacob should have his birthright. This case is left on record as a warning to others. As Esau learned that Jacob had obtained the blessing which would have belonged to him, had he not rashly sold it, he was greatly distressed. He repented of his rash act, when it was too late to remedy the matter. Thus it will be with sinners in the day of God, who have bartered away their heirship to Heaven for selfish gratifications and hurtful lusts. They will then find no place for repentance, although they may seek it, like Esau, carefully and with tears. p. 108, Para. 2, [1SP ].

What is amazing to me is Obadiah mirrors much of Jeremiah 49. A great deal of study will be required to understand this, but God does not waste space in the Bible. This duplication is there to emphasize the prophecy. We will share this today.

    Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house [spiritually defined as “church”] of Israel [SDA] are uncircumcised in the heart. Jeremiah 9:25-26

Edom is the home of Esau. Esau is spiritually uncurcumcised, meaning he is “stiffnecked.”

    Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. Deuteronomy 10:16

    Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Acts 7:51

Understanding Esau’s true spiritual position, we have a correlation.

 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you. 2 Chronicles 30:8

No uncircumcised was to enter the sanctuary. This text tells us that no stiffnecked was to enter the sanctuary. Previously we learned that “stiffnecked” was a definition for “uncircumcised.”

Since Esau represents the SDA church, which has despised it’s spiritual birthright, none of Esau will enter the sanctuary, or be cleansed, or have their sins blotted out, by God’s appointed way, there.

The Day-Star shows the saints gathered together on the sea of glass, with harps. Here is a definition of what “harp” means in the Bible.

Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth,
and with songs, with tabret,
and with harp? Genesis 31:27

Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun,
who prophesied with a harp,
to give thanks and to praise the LORD. 1 Chronicles 25:3

My harp also is turned to mourning, and
my organ into the voice of them that weep. Job 30:31

I will incline mine ear to a parable:
I will open my dark saying upon the harp. Psalms 49:4

I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God:
unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. Psalms 71:22

Sing unto the LORD with the harp;
with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. Psalms 98:5

Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving;
sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Psalms 147:7

“Harp” is shown to be “songs,” “prophesy,” “thanksgiving,” “organ” and “parable.” It is also literal, as in an instrument of music. God has several levels of understanding, apparently. It’s almost as if the hidden treasure is a giant filter, keeping out those who hear, but understand not; they see, but see not; lest they should be saved.

Today’s word is “perceive.” What does the Bible say it means?

I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain;

that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, 1 Samuel 12:17

perceive = see

Lo, he goeth by me, and    I    see       him not:
he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. Job 9:11

perceive = see

And he said, Go, and tell this people,
Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and
see ye indeed, but   perceive   not. Isaiah 6:9

perceive = understand

Thou shalt not see a fierce people,
a people of a deeper speech than thou canst        perceive;
of a stammering tongue,       that thou canst not understand. Isaiah 33:19

perceive = understand

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith,
By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and
seeing ye shall see, and shall not   perceive: Matthew 13:14

perceive = understand

Saying, Go unto this people, and say,
Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and
seeing ye shall see,   and         not   perceive: Acts 28:26

perceive = understand

The best is for the last!
To know          wisdom and instruction;
to perceive the words of understanding; Proverbs 1:2

perceive = know = understanding = wisdom and instruction

Notice how many different words God uses to convey the definition. Sometimes the word changes are subtle. It seems this is to help meet the different minds of his saints.

Wisdom, knowledge and understanding is all about the hidden treasure. Peter had the hidden treasure. The Holy Spirit was his instructor. So when Simon came to him asking to purchase the power of the Holy Ghost, Peter, because he knew the hidden treasure, was able to understand the situation.

For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
Acts 8:23

Here is a quick list of some definitions of “kingdom.”

And thine house and
thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee:
thy    throne  shall be established for ever. 2 Samuel 7:16
kingdom = throne

As the LORD thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not. 1 Kings 18:10
kingdom = nation

They shall speak of the glory
of thy kingdom, and talk
of thy power; Psalms 145:11
kingdom = power

The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, Daniel 7:23
kingdom = beast

The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: Matthew 13:24
kingdom = sower, sowing good seed

The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Matthew 13:31
kingdom = mustard seed

The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. Matthew 13:33
kingdom = leaven

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Matthew 13:44
kingdom = hidden treasure

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Matthew 13:45
kingdom = merchant

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Matthew 13:47
kingdom = net

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. Matthew 18:23
kingdom = king

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. Matthew 20:1
kingdom = householder

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. Matthew 25:1
kingdom = ten virgins

For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. Matthew 25:14
kingdom = a traveler

The purpose of showing you these definitions is to point up the fact that it’s not always only one way. This is how we are trained, to think only one definition will work. But God has a plan to hide his treasure from the casual. Those who think, rigidly, that there can be only one definition for a word, will miss a lot of the hidden treasure.

Again, the whole purpose of hiding the hidden treasure, is to prevent some from being saved. Crazy yeah? It’s not my idea, it comes from God; because he reads the heart.

    And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. Mark 4:10-12

The hidden treasure is hidden within a spiritual discernment. Right there is the crux of the matter. Laodicea thinks they are rich in spiritual discernment, when they are blind as a bat!!!

Some have sanctimonious, apparently conscientious and very pious, doubts, which they will cautiously drop, which has tenfold more power to strengthen those who are wrong and to lesson our influence and weaken the confidence of God’s people in our work, than if they came out more frankly. These poor souls, I saw, were deceived by Satan. They flatter themselves that they are all right, and in favor with God, rich in spiritual discernment, when they are blind, poor, and wretched. They are doing the work of Satan, and thinking they have a zeal for God. p. 11, Para. 5, [23OT].

I understand this is insulting to Laodicea, but,… something….

    Something must arise to lessen the hold of God’s people upon the world. p. 40, Para. 1, [12OT].

Obadiah has long intrigued me. I am quite sure that it is a prophecy about the SDA church, for the language is all about Edom, the home of Esau, and Esau, the one who rejected his birthright.

This focus is about the spiritual birthright, not the physical. The SDA church of today has rejected it’s spiritual birthright. That spiritual birthright is it’s historical birthing place. That historical birthing place is none other than the light of the Midnight Cry.

Though William Miller started the movement to await the second coming of Christ, that movement was named the “Millerite” movement. It ended in the spring of 1843. Then a time of spiritual darkness commenced which was well illustrated by “midnight” in the parable of the ten virgins, which then applied.

Even though still called “Millerites,” the group had become “Advents.” They went on, into the great disappointment, and the very next day began the third angel’s message, with the vision God gave to Hiram Edson in the corn field.

Shortly after this, God chose Ellen to be his prophet to the Advent people. God spoke through her to his church in visions and in written materials. These communications from God contained many corrections of erroneous understandings of the Bible. In a great measure, the SDA church of today has forsaken God’s direction. Some even go so far as to claim those words to be error. This is the daring sin of blasphemy.

The SDA church of today goes to great lengths to “protect it’s rights” and it’s prophet’s name, by force, at the point of a gun, through the power of the state. Recently they have filed another lawsuit to protect their possession of a copyright over Ellen’s alleged writings. In America, all copyrights expire on life of the author, plus 75 years. All copyrights on Ellen’s true writings expired in 1990.

There are a great abundance of materials to which Ellen’s name has been attached, that the church created, these, they do have copyright over.

But for all of that, they reject as false the very idea that God is the author of the information and reject his leading. I just shake my head at the “arguments” and “reasonings” of adults, grown and educated, who like squabbling children argue points such as the “daily” &c. Under the hellish banner of new light they march rough-shod over the whole earth! (You should look up the spiritual meaning of the word “earth.”)

These are refusing to walk in the light of the Midnight Cry.

Which begs the question, what road are they on?

Friday September 14, 2012

Friday is called the preparation day by many. I’m sharing with you some hidden treasure for you to dig into; also known as, entering the Sabbath rest.

This is my paraphrase of The Day-Star using Bible Words Spiritually Discerned for definitions. Tomorrow the source texts will be posted for you. You might try and look up some of these words in your Bible, using e-Sword. See if you can find a better definition for the words used. It amazes me how this study method is like putting a magnifying glass on the subject. It just becomes so much more clear.

Only the first few lines of the excerpt are used. See if you can figure out where the paraphrase stops.

Here is the paraphrase of The Day-Star excerpt.

While praying at the family altar the Holy Ghost fell on me and I seemed to be rising higher and higher, far above the false church that was in such great darkness. (1)

I turned to look for the 144,000 (2) in the false church (1) but could not find them, when a voice said to me, Look again, and look a little higher.

At this, I raised my eyes and see a gate betwixt a desire for life and death, (3) opening onto the way of life, bathed in a shining light, growing brighter and brighter, (4) prepared for the way of (5) the 144,000, the anointed ones, (6) above all nations, (7) above the false church.(1)

This bright and shining way of life was open to the 144,000 who were traveling to the Heavenly Jerusalem, (8) to be reached after the close of all human probation. (9)

They had a bright light set up behind them at the first closing of probation, for those who would not enter, (10) before the shut door, when Christ went into the Most Holy. This light is called the Midnight Cry, because it came at the darkest hour before the opening of the dispensation of the fullness of time.

Here is The Day-Star excerpt.

    While praying at the family altar the Holy Ghost fell on me and I seemed to be rising higher and higher, far above the dark world. I turned to look for the Advent people in the world, but could not find them, when a voice said to me, Look again, and look a little higher. At this, I raised my eyes and see a strait and narrow path, cast up high above the world. On this path the Advent people were traveling to the City, which was at the farther end of the path. They had a bright light set up behind them at the first end of the path, which an angel told me was the Midnight Cry. This light shone all along the path and gave light for their feet so they might not stumble. And if they kept their eyes fixed on Jesus, who was just before them, leading them to the City, they were safe. But soon some grew weary, and said the City was a great way off, and they expected to have entered it before. Then Jesus would encourage them by raising his glorious right arm, and from his arm came a glorious light which waved over the Advent band, and they shouted, Hallelujah! Others rashly denied the light behind them, and said that it was not God that had led them out so far. The light behind them went out which left their feet in perfect darkness, and they stumbled and got their eyes off the mark and lost sight of Jesus, and fell off the path down in the dark and wicked world below. It was just as impossible for them to get on the path again & go to the City, as all the wicked world which God had rejected. They fell all the way along the path one after another, until we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus’ coming.

One of the things we know about the 144,000 is that they are called virgins. In that particular context, the 144,000 are portrayed as men. The interesting thing about that is Isaiah 66:7, which  talks about a woman delivering a man child.

    Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

This text is in the context of the second coming resurrection. It looks highly possible that this is a reference to the 144,000, for, in Revelation, they are inferred to be men.

Isaiah 66:8 is about the second coming resurrection. (Get your Bible and prove it!!!)

    Christ made no reference here to the resurrection of the body from the grave, when a nation shall be born in a day, but he was speaking in regard to the inward work of grace upon the unregenerate heart. p. 129, Para. 1, [2SP].

In these next two verses “the virgin” is clearly defined as “daughter of Zion” and “Jerusalem.”

    The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee. 2 Kings 19:21

    what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? Lamentations 2:13

Working with the two phrases, “daughter of Zion” and “daughter of Jerusalem” we find there are 26 references to “daughter of Zion” and 6 for “daughter of Jerusalem.”

BTW, we highly recommend e-Sword for your Bible word study. Not only is it very useful, it’s free.
http://www.e-sword.net/

In this last search something useful has appeared. More definitions.

he shall shake his hand against the mount of
the daughter of Zion,
the hill of Jerusalem. Isaiah 10:32

Sing,
O daughter of Zion; shout,
O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem.
Zephaniah 3:14

Rejoice greatly,
O daughter of Zion; shout,
O daughter of Jerusalem:
behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Zechariah 9:9

The “daughter of Zion,” is also “daughter of Jerusalem,” is also “the hill of Jerusalem,” is also “Israel.” Remember that this is figurative, hidden treasure language. This is NOT man’s definitions, such as found in the dictionaries written by man, or by the use of Strong’s word numbering system. These are all man’s ideas. Something written by God should be defined by God, and not man.

Here are some definitions. These are random and not necessarily related to any particular subject. Our objective is show more of a broad range.

And
the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him,
the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge
and of the fear of the LORD;
Isaiah 11:2

Wisdom, understanding, counsel, might and knowledge are synonyms, actually defining each other and the spirit of the Lord, and the fear of the Lord.

He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection:
the stones of darkness, and
the shadow of death.
Job 28:3

The stones of darkness, is defined as, the shadow of death, and vise versa.

The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.
Psalms 24:1

One, of the definitions of “earth,” would be, “world.” Though this seems like a “no brainer,” it is important to remember that in the hidden treasure, often there is more than one message God is communicating. We will revisit this later, today, it’s just random.

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
Philippians 1:23

“Strait,” is defined as “betwixt two” and the text goes on to state just what those two are.

Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven,
and my record is on high.
Job 16:19

Surrounded by the peg words, “my” and “is” we have “witness” defined as “record.” Also, “heaven” is defined as “high.”
