Final Events 2.3

Let’s just take a long look at the plagues.

Then I saw that the seven last plagues were soon to be poured out upon those who have no shelter, yet the world regard them no more than they would so many drops of water that were about to fall. Then I was made capable to endure the awful sight of the seven last plagues, the wrath of God. I saw that his anger was dreadful and terrible, and if he should stretch forth his hand, or lift it in anger, the inhabitants of the world would be as though they never had been, or would suffer the incurable sores and withering plagues that would come upon them, and they would find no deliverance, but be destroyed by them.p. 28, Para. 1, [CEV].

Said the angel to them, “Will ye shun the seven last plagues? Will ye go to glory, and enjoy all that God has prepared for those that love him, and are willing to suffer for his sake? If so, ye must die that ye may live. Get ready, get ready, get ready. Ye must have a greater preparation than ye now have, for the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Sacrifice all to God. Lay all upon his altar, self, property and all, a living sacrifice. It will take all to enter glory. Lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven where no thief can approach or rust corrupt. Ye must be partakers of Christ’s sufferings here, if ye would be partakers with him of his glory hereafter.” p. 28, Para. 6, [CEV].

Many of the opposers of God’s truth, devise mischief in their heads upon their beds, and in the day, they carry out their mischief and wicked devices, to put down the truth, and get something new to interest, and take the minds of their people, and divert them from the precious, all important truth. I saw that the priests who are leading on their flock to death, are soon to be arrested in their dreadful career. The plagues of God are coming, and after one or two has fallen, and they are tormented with the plagues,

We think it possible that this gives reference to the idea of the plagues falling as the rain did in Noah’s day, slow at first, then faster and faster.

it is not enough; for all this, his hand is stretched out still, and will not be brought to himself again, until his purposes are fully accomplished, and they will be led to worship at the saints’ feet, and acknowledge that God has loved them, because they held fast the truth, and kept God’s commandments. And his hand is stretched out still in wrath and justice, and he will not rest from his anger, until the hireling priests and all the unrighteous are destroyed from the earth.p. 44, Para. 3, [SUPCEV].

A great portion of the wicked were greatly enraged, as they suffered the effects of the plagues. It was a scene of fearful agony. Parents were bitterly reproaching their children, and children reproaching their parents, brothers their sisters, and sisters their brothers. Loud wailing cries were heard in every direction, It was you who kept me from receiving the truth, which would have saved me from this awful hour. The people turned upon the ministers with bitter hate, and reproached them, telling them, You have not warned us. You told us all the world was to be converted, and cried, Peace, peace, to quiet every fear that was aroused. You have not told us of this hour, and those who warned us of it you said were fanatics, and evil men, who would ruin us. But the ministers, I saw, did not escape the wrath of GOD. Their sufferings were ten fold greater than their people’s. p. 200, Para. 2, [GC58].

I saw the saints leaving the cities and villages, and associating in companies together, and living in the most solitary places. Angels provided them food and water; but the wicked were suffering with hunger and thirst.

Notice the great difference here between the authentic Spirit of Prophecy and the counterfeit. The counterfeit, in Vol. 5 of the Testimonies, page 464, tells the church members that when Sunday is made a test they are to all leave the battlefield, that is, leave the cities and move out to the country; at the very time earth’s final warning is to be given. Satan exults in his devices.

Then I saw the leading men of earth consulting together, and Satan and his angels were busy around them. I saw a writing, and copies of it scattered in different parts of the land, giving orders, that unless the saints should yield their peculiar faith, give up the Sabbath, and observe the first day, they were at liberty, after such a time, to put them to death.

The death decree comes as a result of the wicked suffering because of the plagues. I think probably the same argument will be put forth as the Egyptians did. “‘We be all dead men,’ if we don’t do something!” Which in this case means sending them, the saints, to their graves, because this time, there is no “out of Egypt,” in their eyes.

But in this time the saints were calm and composed, trusting in GOD, and leaning upon his promise, that a way of escape would be made for them. In some places, before the time for the writing to be executed, the wicked rushed upon the saints to slay them; but angels in the form of men of war fought for them. Satan wished to have the privilege of destroying the saints of the Most High; but JESUS bade his angels watch over them, for GOD would be honored by making a covenant with those who had kept his law in the sight of the heathen round about them; and JESUS would be honored by translating the faithful, waiting ones, who had so long expected him, without their seeing death. p. 201, Para. 1, [GC58].

I then beheld the earth. The wicked were dead, and their bodies were lying upon the face of the earth. The inhabitants of earth had suffered the wrath of GOD in the seven last plagues. They had gnawed their tongues for pain and had cursed GOD. The false shepherds were signal objects of JEHOVAH’S wrath. Their eyes had consumed away in their holes, and their tongues in their mouths, while they stood upon their feet. After the saints were delivered by the voice of GOD, the rage of the wicked multitude was turned upon each other. The earth seemed to be deluged with blood, and dead bodies were from one end of the earth to the other. p. 211, Para. 1, [GC58].

To recapitulate: The plagues do not start until Christ is on the cloud headed for earth. I rather doubt it will take him very long to get here. The whole entire purpose of the plagues is to destroy the wicked. The 1858 Great Controversy, page 199, says that “the plagues,” plural, “were falling” with no count given, would seem to indicate all the plagues falling at once.

In the counterfeit, the 1911GC, p. 628, flatly states, “These plagues are not universal, or the inhabitants of the earth would be wholly cut off.” Yet as we have seen, this is the very purpose of the plagues. And one more.

“God will plague the wicked inhabitants of the earth until they are destroyed from off it.” 1SP, p. 85.

If people are living “universal[ly]” on the planet, and the very purpose of these plagues is to destroy them; then, it only makes sense that the plagues would be universal. But we have already proven the 1911GC to be false light to deceive the SDA church members.

Final Events No.2.2

There is an unknown time period between some of these items. We do know enough to get through to the end.

This is another item that happens after Christ ends his ministration in the Most Holy. There are some who feel the great loss of mercy’s pleading voice calling, and they go on a search, looking for the truth.

Those who had not prized GOD’S word were hurrying to and fro. They wandered from sea to sea, and from the north to the east, to seek the word of the LORD. Said the angel, They shall not find it. There is a famine in the land; not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. What would they not give for one word of approval from GOD? but no, they must hunger and thirst on. Day after day have they slighted salvation, and prized earthly pleasure, and earthly riches, higher than any heavenly inducement and treasure. They have rejected JESUS, and despised his saints. The filthy must remain filthy forever. p. 200, Para. 1, [GC58].

One possible meaning to this message, is that these are searching for the original Advent message. This would be the same message the church of Philadelphia had.

At some point, the saints hear the bells on Christ’s high priest robe as he comes out of the temple to place the blotted out sins on Satan.

“And I saw Jesus rise up in the Holiest, and as he came out we heard the tinkling of bells, and knew our High Priest was coming out.” The Day-Star

Another event is Christ changing his role, from our high priest to our King. James has this to say.

“The establishment of the eternal kingdom is by a succession of events, the first of which occurs prior to the destruction of earthly governments. p. 6, Para. 1, [KINGDOM].
“1. The Son of God, at the close of his ministration for sinners, and before his second appearing, will receive the kingdom from the Father. p. 6, Para. 1, [KINGDOM].

At a later point Christ will dress in the robe of vengeance and take his place on the cloud that is to carry him to earth.

“And I saw a flaming cloud come where Jesus stood and he laid off his priestly garment and put on his kingly robe, took his place on the cloud which carried him to the east where it first appeared to the saints on earth, a small black cloud, which was the sign of the Son of Man.” The Day-Star
“Then I saw that Jesus would not leave the Most Holy Place until every case was decided either for salvation or destruction, and that the wrath of God could not come until Jesus had finished his work in the Most Holy Place, laid off his priestly attire and clothed himself with the garments of vengeance. Then Jesus will step out from between the Father and man, and God will keep silence no longer; but pour out his wrath on those who have rejected his truth.” CEV, p. 19
“Then I saw that Jesus’ work in the sanctuary will soon be finished. And after His work there is finished, He will come to the door of the first apartment, and confess the sins of Israel upon the head of the Scape Goat. Then He will put on the garments of vengeance. Then the plagues will come upon the wicked, and they do not come till Jesus puts on that garment, and takes His place upon the great white cloud.” Spalding and Magan, p. 2.

Now the plagues (plural) fall, and the four winds are released. Life on earth just became an order of magnitude worse. And one more.

“It was impossible for the plagues to be poured out while JESUS officiated in the Sanctuary; but as his work there is finished, as his intercession closes, there is nothing to stay the wrath of GOD, and it breaks with fury upon the shelterless head of the guilty sinner, who has slighted salvation, and hated reproof.” 1858GC, p. 198

What I want to note here is that, apparently, in God’s eyes, Christ is still considered to be “officiating” in the Sanctuary until he takes his place on that cloud. It is at that point that his intercession ends. NOW, comes the wrath of God.

It is an interesting twist to the understanding I had before. It does, however, match with Crosier’s comments about events taking a “period of time” rather than a “point” in time. We have to remember that God thinks a lot differently than we do.

Sunday April 29, 2012

I am late with this post because of spiritual feasting on the Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit; to teach me more of the depth of the Bible teachings, as understood by using the Bible to be it’s own expositor, or we might say, the Bible explaining itself. It was an incredible experience.

We plan to share this with you. Please mark your calender for 10:30 am, PDT, west coast of the USA, on May 12, 2012. More details to follow shortly.

The plan is to provide an MP3 recording for those who were not able to attend, and as a permanent resource, downloadable anytime.

Final Events No.2

Probation closes, not just for man, but for the entire universe. “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:22-23

O. R. L. Crosier makes some interesting observations in his article, in The Day-Star Extra, February 7, 1846. He notes that, from the human view, many things of God’s work, takes “a period of time.” It seems appropriate to note that here. The closing of probation takes a period of time; and, this may not be the best name for this time period. Parts of it happen in a moment; other parts take time.

When Christ throws down the censer, mercy stops pleading for mankind, and there is no more chance to repent. But, there are other things that need to take place, that take an unknown amount of time. Apparently this begins another period of waiting and watching. There is no known activity for the saints at this time. It appears to us that they are waiting and watching for instruction from Christ. We believe this period will be quite short.

BUT, Christ has still not stepped out from between God and man, so the plagues have not started yet; the four angels are still holding the four winds. Life goes on as “normal” for the wicked. It appears that this time is a nice parallel to the time Noah spent in the Ark, after the door was closed, and, before the rain began to fall. It lasted seven days, then.

During this time the wicked verbally abused Noah. We expect similar during this time. Yet the saints are still following Christ.

And I saw the time of trouble, such as never was,–Jesus told me it was the time of Jacob’s trouble, and that we should be delivered out of it by the voice of God. The Day-Star

It appears that God considers the whole, “time of trouble such as never was” to be the “time of Jacob’s trouble,” and not separate, or different. The 1858 Great Controversy, on page 201, tells us that the saints enter this time, “calm and composed, trusting in God and leaning upon his promise, that a way of escape would be made for them.”

We back up a few pages in the same book, to page 187, the chapter titled, “The Shaking,” and find these words, “Yet every one, without an exception, was earnestly pleading, and wrestling like Jacob for deliverance.” So there is a transition with these people, from calm and trusting, to the Jacob’s trouble experience and pleading with God for help.

More to come.

Friday April 27.2, 2012

Just about four hours ago Dutchsinse, our fave weather and earthquake truther,  posted a video about another factory in Japan, that exploded. Apparently 3400 barrels of depleted uranium were stored at that site and exploded five days ago. This released a cloud of matter into the atmosphere and it is headed into Hawaii and then the West Coast of the USA.

You are encouraged to watch the video and monitor the situation. As this storm comes across the US it might be a good idea to not be out in that rain.

Depleted uranium is used by the military to make highly effective projectiles for the big guns. After the explosion, the depleted uranium never goes away. It causes massive problems for the population. Perhaps this is why there is a news black-out on this story. Just google it.

When put together with the fact that the Fukushima nuclear plant is still not contained…. We are killing ourselves.

The governments of both countries are lying to their people instead of organizing a global effort to get that thing contained!!!

Let’s not forget that after Fukushima blew, here, on the west coast USA, there was documented a 34% increase in newborn deaths. Babies are least able to withstand radiation.

Here is his blog with video.

Final Events No.2

We believe, at this point of our research and study, that the end of the general waiting, watching time happens when Sunday is made a test. This is not exactly correct, because the true end will be when Christ appears; but it will be the end of the waiting and watching — for the final events to begin.

“The conflict is between the requirements of God and the requirements of the beast. The first day, a Papal institution which directly contradicts the fourth commandment, is yet to be made a test by the two-horned beast. And then the fearful warning from God declares the penalty of bowing to the beast and his image.” p. 22, Para. 4, [6OT].

We currently understand that this “fearful warning” is, in fact, the loud cry. There is an interesting passage from the 1858 Great Controversy, found on page 194.

I saw angels hurrying to and fro in heaven. They were descending to earth, and again ascending to heaven, preparing for the fulfillment of some important event. Then I saw another mighty angel commissioned to descend to earth, and unite his voice with the third angel, and give power and force to his message. Great power and glory were imparted to the angel, and as he descended, the earth was lightened with his glory. The light which went before and followed after this angel, penetrated everywhere, as he cried mightily, with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. The message of the fall of Babylon, as given by the second angel, is again given, with the addition of the corruptions which have been entering the churches since 1844. The work of this angel comes in at the right time, and joins in the last great work of the third angel’s message, as it swells into a loud cry. And the people of God are fitted up everywhere to stand in the hour of temptation which they are soon to meet. I saw a great light resting upon them, and they united in the message, and fearlessly proclaimed with great power the third angel’s message. p. 194, Para. 2, [1SG ].

This depicts the angel of Revelation 18: 1-4. We know that this angel is not a real angel, but is an illustration of the people of God doing the work here shown. Thus, in the portion of the vision God gave to Ellen, appearing on page 194, that angel is also not a real angel, but a representation of people doing that work.

In, what we think will be, the act of a president, signing an executive order, making Sunday a test, God’s people will begin “the last great work of the third angel’s message.” It is here shown to be the work that will swell into a loud cry, with the power of the angel of Revelation 18.

God has shown us that this power will be ten times greater than the power that attended the Midnight Cry. Here is that passage.

“I saw latter rain was coming as the midnight cry, and with ten times the power.” Spalding and Magan, p. 4.

The Midnight Cry started about the first of August, 1844. It lasted about ten weeks. We think the Loud Cry could easily last only one week. Think about that. The question naturally will arise, “How long will God give the world to make their decision before probation closes?” The answer is, we don’t know; God has not revealed that.

We do expect a parallel experience among the believers, as happened to those who gave the Midnight Cry. In the words of James, we see a more complete picture.

All true believers expected that probation would close as soon as the tenth day of the seventh month. And as the time of expectation drew near, their burdened spirits felt more and still more heavily the weight and responsibility of doing every duty to others. But as the point of expectation was finally reached, all this burden at once fell off. This was as true of the isolated brother or sister, in some distant part of the country, as with those in the crowded city mingling with hundreds of like faith. It was true of all. All felt that their work in warning sinners was done. No one can have a just idea of this great change, only those who participated in the movement, and came up to the time of expectation with the burden of the solemn work upon them. Jesus had not come as they expected, and why this great change had come over all was a matter of proper inquiry. and how natural the conclusion, to say the least, that probation was ended. p. 186, Para. 1, [LIFE].

Let’s go back now to the 1858 Great Controversy, page 197.

I saw angels hurrying to and fro in heaven. An angel returned from the earth with a writer’s inkhorn by his side, and reported to Jesus that his work was done, that the saints were numbered and sealed. Then I saw Jesus, who had been ministering before the ark containing the ten commandments, throw down the censer. He raised his hands upward, and with a loud voice said, It is done. p. 197, Para. 2, [1SG ].

We do not believe that the angel reporting to Jesus is a real angel; but that it is an illustration of the saints on earth, experiencing a similar burden for sinners falling off, as happened to the saints in 1844. It appears that this is the work of the Holy Ghost leading the saints; first, in a burden for sinners; second, in a falling off of that burden. The saints would then naturally turn to Christ, as the only authorized leader of his people, for instruction.

Having come naturally to the close of probation, we will enter that subject tomorrow.

God Bless your study

Note: I am reminded that the foregoing study, while in perfect harmony with the rest of the authenticated, original Spirit of Prophecy, is contrary to the favorite quote of many, found in Vol. 5 of the counterfeit Testimonies. The following is an excerpt.

As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains.{5T 464.3}

It appears that if this quote from the counterfeit were correct, none of God’s people would be around to give the Loud Cry; hence, we think it is in gross error and a trap for the SDA membership. It does not seem there will be any time for moving then. It is the time when the Holy Spirit is moving on the saints to go here and go there, for like Philip at his work, and the two spies in Jericho, all the honest in heart will be rescued. See No. 15, p. 96.

Friday April 27, 2012

The last days. It’s everyone’s favorite subject. Over the next few days I will be going over what is my current understanding on future events. I have found it very interesting and a consuming subject. Some of my ideas that I had in mind were wrong. But that is the very purpose of the Spirit of Prophecy, it is to give us a correct understanding of the Bible.
First, let’s look at our current position. There is a section in No. 16, mostly the last part, that we will take excerpts for this post; you should read in context and prove all things.

When the heart is divided, dwelling principally upon the things of the world, but in a small degree upon the things of God, there can be no special advancement or increase of strength. That which claims the largest share of the mind, calling into exercise its powers, is worldly enterprises; therefore in this direction there is strength, and power to claim more and more of the interest and affections, and there is less and less reserved to devote to God. It is impossible for the soul to flourish while prayer is not a special exercise of the mind. p. 93, Para. 2, [16OT].

Jesus has left us word, “Watch ye therefore; for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cock-crowing, or in the morning; lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch.” We are waiting and watching for the Master’s return, who is to bring the morning, lest coming suddenly he find us sleeping. What time is here referred to? Not the revelation of Christ in the clouds of heaven to find a people asleep. No; but his return from his ministration in the most holy, laying off his priestly attire, and clothing himself with garments of vengeance, when the mandate goes forth, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still; and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still; and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” p. 94, Para. 1, [16OT].

The Lord intimates a delay before the morning finally dawns. He would not have them give way to weariness, nor relax their earnest watchfulness, because the morning does not open upon them as soon as they expected. The waiting ones were represented to me as looking upward. They were encouraging one another, repeating these words. p. 96, Para. 1, [16OT].

The first and second watches are past. We are in the third watch, waiting and watching for the Master’s return. There remains but a little period of watching now. p. 97, Para. 1, [16OT].

Angels were represented to me as looking on with intense interest to mark the appearance of the yet faithful, wearied watchers, lest they be tried too sorely, and sink under the toil and hardships, made doubly severe by their brethren being diverted from their watch, and drunken with worldly cares, and beguiled by worldly prosperity. The heavenly angels grieve that those who were once watching should, by their indolence and unfaithfulness, increase the trial and burdens of those who were trying, with earnestness and perseverance, to maintain their waiting, watching positions. p. 97, Para. 2, [16OT].

I saw that it was impossible to have the affections and interests engrossed in worldly cares, increasing their possessions, laying up treasures upon the earth, and yet be in a waiting, watching position, as our Saviour has commanded. … Watch after watch, I saw, was in the past. Because of this, should there be a lack of vigilance? Oh! no. There is the greater necessity of unceasing watchfulness, for now the moments are fewer than before the passing of the first watch. Now the period of time for the waiting is necessarily shorter than at first. If we watched with unabated vigilance then, how much more need of double watchfulness in the second watch. The passing of the second watch has brought us to the third, and now it is inexcusable to relax our watching. The third watch calls for threefold earnestness. p. 98, Para. 1, [16OT].

The first watch was the watching for Christ’s return in 1843, or, the first angel’s message. That message brought the saints to the second watch, which was in October 22, 1844. Later called the great disappointment. Now, under the third angel’s message, we are in the third watch, which will terminate with Christ’s second coming, and the ending of the Gospel Dispensation in the resurrection of the great multitude that no man can number.

God designs his people shall fix their eyes heavenward looking for the glorious appearing of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. While the attention of worldlings is turned to the various enterprizes, ours should be to the Heavens, our faith reaching farther and farther into the glorious mysteries of heavenly treasures, drawing the precious, divine rays of light from the heavenly sanctuary, to shine in our hearts, as it shineth in the face of Jesus Christ. 16OT].

There is a great deal more in the context. I urge you to read those pages. It starts on page 91 and continues to the end. It is full of very important information; especially as it relates to the waiting watching time.

If winning eternal life and Heaven is important to you, then you will make the time to secure your own salvation. “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Philip. 2:12

Thursday April 26, 2012

We need to expand just a bit off yesterday’s post, the part at the bottom. We’ll put it here just so you don’t have to scroll, (cause I don’t like that!).

Note: the following two sentences have been edited out of the White Estate Comprehensive Research Edition 2008 CD.
“The reader will find no difficulty in deciding in this case, whether we assumed the position of an independent leader, or chose one of subordination, to be held and controlled by the views of fellow-laborers. The Lord chooses his own time, and sometimes uses means that we little expect, in vindicating the truth in the face of falsehood.” Life Sketches, 1880 edition, page 402.

So often it is hard to count on the White Estate for anything but perfidy. One really has to check everything. But it is easy to see why they left this out! Here is James, the man who exemplifies a humble leader, refusing to be called “leader,” and submitting himself to the direction of his “fellow-laborers!”

What an example of Gospel Order! It should be noticed that this is not a democracy. James is not submitting to the direction of the group. James was an elder. He was a pioneer of this faith as defined by God, in The Present Truth, No. 11, page 86. Here is that passage.

“I also saw that the shepherds should consult those in whom they have reason to have confidence, those who have been in all the messages, and are firm in all the present truth, before they advocate any new point of importance, which they may think the Bible sustains. Then the shepherds will be perfectly united, and the union of the shepherds will be felt by the church. Such a course I saw would prevent unhappy divisions, and then there would be no danger of the precious flock being divided, and the sheep scattered, without a shepherd.”

We see that what James wrote, and practiced, in 1880, is exactly the same thing that God taught his church in 1850. So for thirty years of major growth in the church, James is still holding and practicing the instruction from God. We need to add one more passage.

I was shown like this. The truth once got out now, will stand; for it is the truth for the last days, and it will live, and less need to be said upon the truth after it is out. SUPCEV, p. 14.

Now we have truth, standing forth in clearness. We have James’ example before us. We have one passage where God defines the true pioneers, and that none of them will be out of harmony with their brethren; because they will restrain themselves from causing division by counseling with their “fellow-laborers” before advocating any new truth.

Then, after that truth is out, it is the Present Truth for the last days. There is no more great, new light that is to, or will, come forth from God that is apart from, the light already given. It is thus that God’s people walk in the light of the Midnight Cry, all the way to the city.

If there is new light to come out, God has given us specific instruction on how it is to happen.

“The different parties of professed Advent believers have a little truth, but God has given all that to his children who are being prepared for the day of God; also truths that neither of these parties know, and will not understand. Things which are sealed up to them, the Lord has opened to those who will see, and are ready to understand them. And if God has any new light to communicate, he will let his chosen and beloved understand it, without their going to hear those who are in error and darkness to have their minds enlightened. p. 45, Para. 1, [SUPCEV].

Now we have a complete picture of harmony within God’s true church. It is a perfect harmony.

To finish with the truth of yesterday’s last lines….
The early pioneers had it right. They were the church of Philadelphia. It is this church that instructs it’s youngest members, those who live through the last days.

Wednesday April 25, 2012

Some have wondered why it is that I do not offer membership in an organization for believers. After all “everybody else does.” As Christians we are required to follow Christ. Any other path leads to destruction.

Satan counts the world as his own, and leads them on as he will. But with the Christian it is not so. “And be not conformed to this world.” Romans 12:2 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” 2 Cor. 6:17 We are not to “build again the things which I destroyed” Galatians 2:18, but we are to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1 Christ has set his church free from the world and the devices of Satan, one of which is membership.

The 144,000 are all virgins, Revelation 14:4, which has nothing to do with sex. What it means is figurative. A woman in the Bible represents a church. A prostitute represents a corrupt church. A virtuous  woman represents a pure church. The Bible is largely male centric, and the 144,000 are depicted as being all males. But this is not so, for Revelation 7:11 depicts the whole of God’s  church as 24 elders.

The 144,000 are those who watch Christ come in the clouds of Heaven. They are not members of an organization. Yet they are, every one, a part of Christ’s church on earth, just like you.

One lesson that should be deeply embedded in the saints, is that organizations not founded on New Testament Gospel Order are on shaky ground and easy prey for Satan. We are to follow the example of the disciples, as laid out in the New Testament. We have no example of the creation of “membership” for us to follow. It is a worldly invention designed to allow “leadership” to control others. Once Satan takes down the leadership, so goes the whole church.

At sopvindicated.org we do not encourage membership in any “organization.”

In the early development of this faith, God led the pioneers in the correct path of New Testament Gospel Order. In the book, “Life Sketches,” 1880 edition, in two excerpts from pages 396 to 402, James has this to say, in perfect harmony with Gospel Order.

“In the providence of God, we have been permitted to bear a part in the work of the last message from its commencement. And it has fallen to our lot to lead out in the publishing work, church organization, systematic benevolence, and to take an active part in bringing our institutions into existence, and also in their management. The success which has attended the several branches of the great work, has come from the direct providence of God. This has given our people confidence in our plans and our general management. Some, taking extreme positions upon the subject of leadership, have been ready to acknowledge us as the leader of this people. This position, however, we have never for a moment accepted. Those who in all honesty took this position, did not clearly see the subject in all its bearings upon a people that might consent to be led, and upon the one who might accept the position of leader.

The leadership question, and the scriptural form of church organization and discipline, have been subjects of discussion in the Christian church for centuries. These are matters upon which men may have committed very grave errors in the past, and those who commit similar ones in our time should not be too severely censured.

When the leadership question was especially agitated among our people, the pressure of influences, at first opposite to each other, were brought to bear upon us. On the one hand, we were urged to acknowledge the position of leader, and on the other hand, some were grieved over the mistaken idea that we had accepted the position, when, at this very time, our views on the subject, given in the following pages, were in manuscript, which was afterward given in the Signs of the Times. We have been thus definite in the foregoing, in order to bring out the following facts:-

    1. That our position upon the subjects of organization, and the means to secure unity in the church of Christ, has been the same during the past thirty years.

    2. That, in the providence of God, we were tested and proved on the very point where reproaches had fallen from those who were unfriendly. They had charged us with assuming the very position which friends urged upon us in vain.

    3. In the matter of the identity question, we were so far influenced by the opinions of others as to be silent upon an important point of truth for a period of sixteen years.

The Lord chooses his own time, and sometimes uses means that we little expect, in vindicating the truth in the face of falsehood.”

The early pioneers had it right. They were the church of Philadelphia. It is this church that instructs it’s youngest members, those who live through the last days.

Progress. That’s the word for today. We are getting very close to starting production of our “study books” version of the authentic, original Spirit of Prophecy materials. It has been a long journey and many thanks to those who have helped by prayers and funds.

The last main infrastructure step to finish, is the title hand press. All materials are in hand and most of the steel is cut, but still needs to be prepped for welding. Then there is the installation of the gear and hand-wheel. Just a bit of machining to do. In between study, blogging and a few other chores.

I am still reveling in the joy experienced through the weekend. It was just excellent. I have carried this smile on my heart all day!

May God Bless your day too

“The Lord has shown me that gospel order has been too much neglected and feared.” Supplement to the 1851 Christian Experience and Views, page 15.

One of the items that came out of this weekend’s activities, is the experience Paul had in meeting Christ. After he became convinced of who he was talking with, he asked what he should do; and he was told, exactly.

Christ supported his church on earth, by telling Paul, “Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.” Acts 9:6

In this event, Christ is also instructing his church. This is a part of gospel order. The new convert is placed in connection with the true church. There, not by himself, but in communication with other believers, and together, in communication with God through the Holy Spirit, Paul gets the needed information.

And the New Testament is full of such instruction. This weekend I had the privilege of meeting another saint being taught of the Holy Ghost. And immediately I realized the truth was being spoken as he poured out his experience in words.

There is a passage that comes to mind.

“Real godliness is diffusive and communicative.” No. 25, p. 128.

It was an excellent experience basking in the burning light of his torch, as he gave his testimony to the truth. It was something he could not hold back and I could not restrain myself from absorbing everything. Truly the Holy Ghost met with us there. I was instructed, he was encouraged and relieved by sharing to a willing student, we both grew in grace before the Lord.

It’s a part of gospel order. Communication. Fellowshiping. God working through each one for the benefit of all. Because we parted, went our ways, and spread the word again, by sharing.

I praise God for his providence in blessing us with truth, and company.

God Bless your study
